A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR THE JOINT
USE OF THE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES OF SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS the City of South San Francisco is in need of additional recreational facilities in
order to provide for a more complete recreational and health program for both the children and adults residing
within said city; and
~ the South San Francisco Unified School District, a public body, has offered to permit
said city to use, in conjunction with said school district, the latter's recreational facilities, provided that
such mse shall in no Fay interfere with the recreational and health program of said school district, and provided,
further, that said city shall take proper safeguards to protect said school district and its recreational facilities
when msed by said city; and
WHEREAS it is deemed to be for the best interests of said city and of the ditizenry thereof that
said city accept the offer so made by said school district,
NOW, T~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of said city does hereby find and determine
that it is adv~able to enter into a contract to provide for the joint use of the recreational facilities of said
school district, with said city permitted to allow such groups and organizations to make use of said recreational
facilities as said city shall authorize. Said contract shall be indeterminate as to the term thereof, the same to
be terminated by either party thereto giving to the other six (6) months' advance written notice to that effect. In
addition, said contract shall specify, among other things, that said city shall take good care of all said school
district's recreational facilities while the same are used by said city and shall protect said school district in the
former's use thereof, said city guaranteeing to hold said school district safe and harmless as a result of any and
all liability arising out of the former's use of said recreational facilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of said city be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
said agreement on behalf of said city, and the City Clerk of said city is hereby directed to attest to the same and
affix thereto the corporate seal of said city.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held on the 4th day of January 1956, by
the following vote:
