SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
CERTAIN MUNICIPALLY O~NED PROPERTY TO THE COUNTY
OF SAN NATEO FOR USE AS THE SITE FOR A HEALTH
AND WELFARE CENTER.
WHEREAS the County of San Mateo is desirous of establishing a Health
and Welfare Center for the purpose of conveniently serving the public residing in the
northern part of S~n Mateo County; and
WHEREAS the City of South San Francisco iS the fee simple owner of
certain real property hereinafter particularly described, which is suitable as a site
for said Health and Welfare Center; and
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo are willing
to locate said Health and Welfare Center within the City of South San Francisco,
provided that said city make available such site to said county at no cost whatsoever
to the latter; and
WHEREAS the City of South San Francisco is in a position to accommodate
said County of San Mateo and the Board of Supervisors thereof by making available a
site for said Health and Welfare Center; and
WHEREAS it is deemed advantageous to, and in the best interests of the
citizens of South San Francisco to have said Health and Welfare Center located within
the confines of said city;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
S n Francisco that said city shall enter into an indenture with the County of San
Mateo for the purpose of transferring to said county, without any cost whatsoever to
the latter, the following described real property to be used as a site for a public
Health and Welfare Center, and for other related purposes:
All that certain piece or parcel of real property situate in
the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State
of California, being a portion of that certain 1.483 acre
parcel of land and a portion of that certshu 0.67 acre parcel
of land as said parcels are described in Deed to the City of
South San Francisco~ recorded October 2, 1952, in Volume 2305
of~Of£icial Records at Page 599, San Mateo County Records,
being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point which is the most southerly corner of
said 1.483 acre parcel, said point also being the point of
intersection of the northeasterly line of Mission Road with
the northwesterly line of Ashton Avenue (now called Willow
Avenue) as said Mission Road and Ashton Avenue are mentioned
in said Deed; thence from said point of beginning along the
southerly line of said 1.483 acre parcel and the northwest-
erly line of said ~lllow Avenue, North 530 15' East 411.45
feet; thence leaving said line of Willow Avenue North 330 52'
56" West 106.00 feet; thence South 50o 15' West 411.45 feet
to said line of Mission Road: thence along said line of
Mission Road South 33o 52' 56" East 106.00 feet to the point
of beginning, containing an area of 1.00 acre more or less.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said indenture shall expressly provide that
in the event that said county shall cease to use said property as a site for a Health
and Welfare Center, and other related purposes, or if said county shall abandon said
property, then the same shall immediately revert to the City of South San Francisco,
which shall be restored to its estate with respect to said property.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the Mayor of said city be, and he hereby is,
authorized to execute the aforementioned indenture on behalf of said city, and that
the City Clerk by, and he hereby is, instructed to attest to the same and to affix
thereto the corporate seal of said city. After said indenture shall be so executed,
it shall be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo by the
'City Clerk, ~dge~e~ with two (2) certified copies of this resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held this 6th day of February, by the following vote:
