A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE PURUHASE OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FROM JOHN THOMPSON
WHEREAS JOHN THOMPSON is the sole owner of that certain parceI cf real
property situate in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Marco, State of California,
and particularly described as follows:
Lot 1, Block 135, as shown on that certain map entitled "SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PLAT NO. 1", recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of San Marco County on March 1, 1892,
in Book "B" of Maps, at page 6, a copy of which map is recorded in Book 2 of Maps at page 52;
and
~k~EAS said JOHN THOMPSON has offered to convey to the City of South
San Francisco marketable title in and to said real property upon payment of the sum of TWELVE
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRFD DOLLARS ($12,500.00); and
~EREAS it is deemed to be in the best interests of said City and of the
citizens thereof that said City acquire said property for said sum of money,
NOk'~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that said City shall purchase the aforedescribed real property for said sum of
T~ELVE T~OUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($12,5OO.OO), provided that said JOHN THOMPSON IS ~eady,
willing, and able to convey to said City marketable title thereto. The purchase of said property
and the adceptance of said Grant Deed arehereby ordered.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a warrant sha. ll be drawn upon the City Treasurer,
payable to the order of San Mateo County Title Company, in said sum of ~ELVE TMOUSAND FIVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($12,500.00), which warrant, along with a certified copy of this resolution and
appropriate escrow instructions, shall be forwa~ed to said title company to be delivered to
said JOHN THO)~SON at such tine as said title company is prepared (1) to record a Grant Deed
conveying to said City marketable title in and to said real property and (2) to issue its policy
of title insurance insuring in said City such ~,~rketable title. A policy of such title insurance
shall be obtained at the expense of said City.
I hereby certify that the foregoin~ resolution was re%,zlarly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco held on the
2Otb day of February 1956, by the following vote;
