A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFIC%TIONS FOR THE
RESURFACING OF HICK~ BOUL~¢.~RD BETWEEN JUNIPERO SERR~
~()ULE~AHD ~3,D EL CAMINO REAL IN SAID CITY, AND DIRECTING
PUBLICATION OF NUI~CE IN-fITING SEALED PROPOSALS AND BIDS
FOR SAID RESURFACING PRO')RAM.
~FREAo the District Engineer for Joint Highway District Ne 10 'of the
State of California has prepared plans and specifications with respect to the resurfacing of Hickey
Boulevard between Junipero Serra Boulevard and E1 Camino Real, STA 172 ~ 50 to 186 / 32; and
%~REAS the Director of Public ~rks ef the City of South San Francisco has
approved said plans and specifications and has reco:mmended that said plans and specifications be approved
by the City Council of said City; and
WHERFAS said City Council deems it advisable as being in the berg interests
of the public and for its general welfare that said plans and specifications be aporoved as recommended
by the Director of Public Werks of said City,
NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVEN by the City ~ouncil of the City of South San
Francisco that the reco~,endation of the Director of Public Works be, and it hereby is accepted. Furtbe-,
the plans and specificstions, as prepared and submitted by the District Engineer for Joint Highway District
Ne. l0 of the State of California, which are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of s~id City, are
hereby accepted and ap~roved.
BE IT FUR~{!!R RF~OLVED that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, directed to
publish, by two (2) successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN FR~CI$CO ~TERPi{I$~JOU~AL, a weekly news-
paper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the resurfacing
program at Hickey Boulevard between Junipero Serra Boulevard and E1 Camino Real in said City, and referring
to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk, the first of which publications shall
be at least ten (10) days prier to the time fixed for opening bids.
BE IT STILL FURTH~{ RF~OLV~D that Louis H. Goss, Birector ef Public Works of
said City, be, and he hereby is, a~pointed to receive sealed bids or proposals mt his office in the City
Hallof said City, at any time on or before 3:00 P. M. on Friday, the 22nd day of June 1956, said time bein~
not les~ than ten ~10) days from the time of the first publicstion of said notice. Bids will be Dub']lely
opened, examined, and declsred at said ti~e and place, by said Director of Public Works, who will then prepare\
a written report with respect te said bids and submit the same te said City Counci]. for its consideration in
connection ~th the award of said bids.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the §ity Clerk be, and he hereby is, instructed to
forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Directors of Joint H~ghw.~s District No. lO, the public
body having direction and control of HickyBeulevard.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced snd adopted by the City Council of the City ef South
San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held this llth day
of June 1956, by the following vote:
