HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2366-1956RESOLUTION NO. 2366 A RESOLUTION OF ~IE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANOISCO PROVIDING THAT THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO SHALL NOT BE R~UIRED TO P~Y OVER TO SAID CITY ANY MONEY OTHERWISE TO BE TRANSFERRED THERETO UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE VACATION OF THE LIND~NVILLE HOUSING PRO~EOT SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED. WHEREAS the Housing Authority of the City of Seuth San Francisco presently faces a great many expenses of unknown amounts and other uncertainties in connection with its program for terminating the operation of the Lindenville Housing Project, includin~ the cost of demolition of buildings and the removal of other land improvements, and, in general, the expense of vacating the premises occupied by said Project; and '~E~EAS the income and profits derived from the operation of said Lindenville Housing Project will be greatly diminished during the period of its deprograming and will, prior to the suspension of operations, cease entirely; and WHEREAS that certain entered into between said Housing Authority in the City of South San Francisco on the 18th day of December 1950 provided that all net proceeds received from the sale er dispositiou of personal property used in said PreJect shall be paid by said Housing Authority to said City; and W~EREAS the payment of money pursuant to the previsions of said contract would cause unreasonable and undue hardship and difficulty to the said Housing Authority at the present time because of its impendinE suspension of operations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED by the Oity Council ef the City of South San Francisco that the Housin~ Authority of the City of South San Francisco shall not be required to make payment Of any monies required to be transferred to said City pursuant to that certain contract entered into between said Housing Authority and said City on the 18th day ef December 1950, until such time as the vacation of the Lindenv~lle Housing Project shall be accomplished. BE IT FURT~ER RESOLVED that at such time as the operation of said Lindenville HousinE Project shall be terminated and the vacation of said premises shall be fully and completely accom- plished, then said Housing Authority shall remit to said City any and all net revenues derived from the operation ef said Lindenville Housing Project. BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, instructed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Commissioners of the Housing Authority oF the City ef South San Francisco.
