A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING REMOVAL OF %~EEDS, RUBBISH,
REFUSE, AND DIRT FROM PARCELS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY.
WHiFfS the City Council of the City of Seuth San Francisco did, on the 18th day ef
June 1956, adopt its resolution No. 237&, in which said City Council determined that weeds which will
attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry were grewing upon private property in
said City, and that, in addition, rubbish, refuse, and dirt were present upon private property in
said City, and declared that said weeds, rub~ish, refuse, and dirt must be removed and that the cost
and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lets of land upon which such weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt exist and, in said resolution, fixed Monday, the 2nd day ef July 1956, at the hour
ef 8 o'clock P. M., and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City, as the time and place when
and where all persons having any objections to the proposed removal of said weeds, rubbish, refuse,
and dirt may appear before said City Council and show cause why the work of the proposed removal of
weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt should net be carried out; and
WHEREAS no person has pretested 6r opposed the removal ef said weeds, rubbish, refuse,
and dirt;
NOW, THk~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ef the City of South San Francisco
that the Director of Public Works, as ex-officio Superintendent of Streets, abate the nuisance caused
by said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt by having them removed. Said Director of Public Works is
hereby directed to keep an account of the cost and expense of abating the nuisance upon each separate
lot er parcel of land where the work of removing said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt may be done,
and to render an itemized report in writing to said City Council, showing the cost and expense of
removing said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt. Before such report is submitted to said City Council,
said Director of Public Works shall cause a copy thereof to be posted on or near the chamber door of
said City Council, together with A notice of filinK the same, and of the time and place when and where
any persons interested in the work of removal of said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt will be heard
by said City Council, which copy of said report shall be so posted for not less than ten (10) days
prior to the time when said reoort may be submitted to said City Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meetinE held this 2nd day of July
1956, by the following vote:
