HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2380-1956RESOLUTION NO. 2380 A HF~OLUTION OF THE CITY COD~fCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REQUESTING THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO I~OVE, BY WIDE$~IING ~D ADDING CURBS AND GUTTERS, THAT PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN STATE HIGHWAY COMMONLY KN~ AS "EL CAMINO ~EAL" (U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 101) ~ICH EXTEEDS THROUGH THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. ]~{EREAS there extends throush the City of South San Francisco several miles of that certain State Highway co~only known as "El Camino Real" (U. S. No. 101) , which should be widened from four (A) lanes to six (6) lanes in order to accom:-~odate the demands of motor vehicular traffic; and k~EHFAS there should also be added to said portion of said State }{ighway curbs and ,gutters in order to improve the appearance of surroundin~ property and to provide proper drainage for stomn waters falling and running upon said portion of said State Highway; and '~,~R~o~'~ it is deem to be in the best interests of the City of South San Francisco and of the residents and property owners thereof that said portion of said State Highway should be so improved. N~J, THE~L~ORE, BE IT RESOLYED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council shall, and it hereby does, request the Division of Highways of the State of Californi~ to make provision in its schedule of public highway improvements for the early widening of that oortion of E1 Camino Real lying within the confines of the City of South San Francisco, and the early installation of curbs ~nd ~utters slong said portion of said highway. BE IT FURTHER R~JOLVED by said City Council that the City Clerk of said City shall, and he is hereby instructed to forward certifi, ed co~ies of this resolution to the Division of HiFhways of the State of California, Senator Harry Parkman, the State Senator for this senatorial district, and Assemblyman Louis Francis, the Assemblyman for this assembly district.
