HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2389-1956RESOLUTION NO. 2389 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO SPECIFYING THAT THE HEADS OF THE VARIOUS MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENTS, INCLUDING THE SAFETY OR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS, SHALL.NOT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION IN THE WAY OF EXTRA HOLIDAY PAY. BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council shall, and it hereby does, determine that the heads of the various municipal departments of said City, includirgthe safety or emergency departme~s, shall not be entitled to additional compensation in the form of extra holiday pay for the reason that said City Council is of the opinion that the heads of the various municipal depart- ments are adequately compensated by their regular monthly salaries for rendering to the City such services as are required by the very nature of their particular offices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Inspector of the Fire Department of the City of South San Francisco shall not be entitled to extra holiday pay, except in those cases where he is, because of an emergency, required to perform as a regular fireman fighting a fire, or is required to make an emergency investigation of a fire. BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the Inspector of.the Police Department of said City shall be regarded as a regular active member of the Police Department and, as such, shall be entitled to additional compensation by way of extra holiday pay, this being due to the fact that the nature of his work requires him to perform iapection and investigation services on Sundays, holidays, and after regular hours. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 16th day of July 1956, by the following vote; Ayes, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi, Francis Lucchio and Leo J. Ryan Noes, none Absent, none ATTEST: Arthur A. Rodondi City Clerk
