A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ACY~NO?,~DGING MERITORIOUS
S~VIC~ RENDERED TO SAID CITY BY A. L. SCHAFER
I!'~ILE StR~ING AS A M~-~ER OF THE P~SONNEL BOARD
OF SAID CITY
I'~EREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 13th day of
February 1954, appoint A. L. SCHAFER as a member of the Personnel Board of said City, on which
Personnel Board he served as a member until the 20th day of August 1956; amd
I~EREAS said A. L. SCHAF~ did serve said City of South San Francisco, and the people
thereof, honorably and well during all the time while he was a member of its Personnel Board; and
L~EREAS, as a public official of said City, he did always conduct himself with the
utmost loyalty, faithfulness, and competence; and
I~EREAS said A. L. SCi{AFER, as a loyal and faithful public servant, contributed
greatly, b~ untiring efforts, to the upbuilding and improvement of the City of South San Francisco,

which made great growth and 'tremendous progress during the time when he was serving as a n~mber of the Person-
nel Board of said City,
NOW, THEREFO?£, BE IT RFSOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that this
City Council does hereby extend to A. L. SGHAFBR its sincere appreciation for his services to said City of
South San Francisco, and the people thereof, and said City Council does hereby express to him their very
highest commendation for the manner in which he has fulfilled the duties of the public office held by him.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the official Minutes of the City
Council of said City and that a Certificate of Merit be presented to said A. L. SCHAFER, together with a
certified copy of this Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolu~ion was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a re~_]~r meeting held on the &th day
of September, 1956, by the following vote.

Leo J. Ryan
