HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2497-1957140 RESOLUTION NO. 2497 RE~OLUTION TO E~EIfOVE WgED~ (A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 80UTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING WEEDS UPON STREETS, SIDEWALKB AND VACANT AND UNIIfPBOVED PRDPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND FIXING THE TIME FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND ORDER ABATING SAID HUISANL'B.), BE IT RESOLVED by tho City Council of the City of South San FranCisCo as follows: Said City Council hereby determines that weeds which viii attain suc. h a largo growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, and which are nov growing upon public streets, sidewalks and vacant and unimprov®d' property in the City of South San Francisco to bo a public nuisance, which must bo abatsd by their removal. Otherwise said woods will be rsmovod and the nuisance abated by the City auth~rities, the cost and expense of such removal shall bo aSs®sass upon all lots of land from in front of which~ or from which such weeds are removed, and such cost will constitute a lien upon such land until the same is paid. Said C4ty council hersbY ,fixes Monday, the 5th day of August' 1957, at tho hour of 8 p.m., and tho Cou'neil Chambers in the City Hall of said City ns the time and place when and where 'any and all persons havtn~ any obJeotio~s' may appear before said City Council and show cause why the work of said proposed removal of weeds shall not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution to be given two (3) succossiv® weekly Publications in the local newspaper. Such publications shall be ontitl®d, "NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS', and such title or caption shall ap- pear in bold print. I hereby certify that the foregoinf resolution vas refularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco held on the 15th day of July 1957, by the following vote: AYES, Councilmen G.
