HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2502-1957RESOLUTION NO. 2502 A EESOLUTION OF-THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO P~OVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN E~PLOYEES' SALARIES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1957-58 WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the employees' contribution to good government in South San Francisco by their efficient and courteous attention to duty, and WHEREAS, in the past year tho emplOyees have aided the City Council's effort to operate economically, so that services to the taxpayers ~ay be expanded by savings rather than increased taxes, and WHEREAS, because of these facts and because wages throughout industry, business and government are bein~ revised, the City Council dee~m it fitting and proPerto grant a five percent (5%) increase in present salariem to City ~aployses for the fiscal year 1957-58. NOW, THEHEFORE, BE IT RE~)LVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby order and approve a five percent (5%) increase in salaries for all City Employees fOr the fiscal year 1957-58 and that it be computed and paid as fellers: For the pay period July 15, 1957, to July 31, 1957, wages payable for said period be increased by ten percent (10%); and for the succeeding montlm comencing with August 1, 1957, and ending Juhe 30, 1958, wages payable in said ~onths be creased five percent (5%). BE IT rU~A'~R RESOLVED that the.City ~anager is authorized to adjust ranges and steps of the pay classification schedule to aoco~plish this Council action or ~ake any other required adjustment to pUt it into effect. I hereby certify that tho foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City CounCil Of the City of South San Francisco at a Special meeting held on the 23rd day of July, 1957, by the following vote: AYES, Councilmen G.
