HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2517-1957RESOLUTION NO. 2517 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN MUNICIPALLY OWNED PROPERTY TO THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR USE AS THE SITE FOR A HEALTH AND WELFARE CENTER ~HEREAS, the City of South San Francisco and the County of San Mateo have agreed to the purchase and exchange of certain parcels of property for a price of FORTY- SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS AND FORTY-EIGHT CENTS ($46,220.48), the same being determined by an agreed formula based upon the appraisal of Rochex & Rochex, Realtors and Appraisers of San Mateo County, WHEREAS, the establishment of a Health & Welfare Center within the City of South San Francisco will be of common benefit to the residents of South San Francisco, WHEREAS, the City and County further desire to provide for the remOval of certain equipment and improvements and for use pendi'ng the taking of possession by the County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City does hereby agree to grant to the County of San Marco, for the purpose of establishing thereon a Health & Welfare Center and for related pur- poses for the consideration of FORTY-SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS AND' FORTY-EIGHT CENTS, the real property situate in the County of San Marco, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: PARCEL BEGINNING at a point on the Southerly line of Grand Avenue EXtension in the City of South San Francisco, said point being distant North 75° 28' West 340.00 feet from the intersection of the Westerly line of Ashton Avenue with the Southerly line of Grand Avenue Extension running thence ~6° ' South 17 12" West 120.00 feet; thence North 75° 28' West 40.00 feet; thence North 16° 17' 12" East 120.00 feet to the Southerly line of Grand Avenue Extension; thence along said Southerly line South 75° 28' East 40.00 feet to the point of beginning known as Lot 6, Grand Avenue Extension Subdivision No. 1. CONTAINING 0.67 acres of land. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall be entitled to: 1. Salvage sod 2. To remove backstop and irrigation system To retain possession and use of the area for playground purposes until the County requires the full possession for its purposes 4. To remove playground equipment 5. To remove the fence BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funds obtained from the sale of said par- celm shall be first applied to the development of playground areas previously scheduled by the City Council, BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of said City be and he hereby is, authorized to execute the aforementioned Indenture on behalf of said City; and that the
