HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2529-1957164 RESOLUTION NO. 2539 A RESOLUTION OF THECITY COUNCIL OF TH2'CITYOF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING'PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION REGARDING POSSIBLE REMEDIAL ACTION TO P~OTECT THE CITY'S RESIDENTS' HEALTH, WELFARE AND P~0PERTY FROM THE' EFFECTS OF JETS AND OTHER AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WHEREAS, operations of aircraft, as now planned, from the San Francisco Inter- national Airport could endanger health and welfare of the residents of South San Francisco, and WHEREAS, because of this and other good reasons, cause exists for a preliminary study by one qualified in the field of aeronautic8 to investigate as to remedial action available to tho City of South San Francisco, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that Maurice A. Garbell, Inc. is qualified to render the technical and professional.services required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby authorize a preliminary investigation by Maurice A. Garbell, Inc. for a sum not to exceed THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,500.00), which shall include a trip to New York to study the related problems before the Port of New York Authority, and the City Manager is hereby further authorized to enter into an agreement with Maurice A. Garbell, Inc. regarding the details of the investigation. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intro- duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a special meeting held on the 25~ day of October, 1957, by the following vote: AYES, Council~en G.
