RE~OLUTION NO. 2554
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO CO,ENDING ROBERT RYAN FOR RESCUING OF
MR. & MRS. RICHARD PENDERGRAFT FROM A RESIDENTIAL FIRE
WHEREAS, in a fire at 355 NeW~an l~lvo on. the 29th day of NoVember 1957 at
10:14 p.m. the lives and safety of Mr. & Rrm. Richard Pendergraft were threatened by
fire, and
WHEREAS, Robert Ryan, fireman in the City of South San Francisco, while
attending said fire displayed courage and resourcefulness in entering the premises
and rescuing Mr. & Mrs. Richard Pendergraft by removing them from the premises to
a safe place, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to conend him for his action and make
said comaendation a part of his personnel record.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of 8outh
San Francisco does hereby commend Robert Ryan, fireman, for his display of courage
and resourcefulness in rescuing Mr. & Mrs. Richard Pendergrnft on the 29th day of
November 1957.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco at a regular meeting held this 16th day of December, 1957,' by the
following vote:
