A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO-DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO AMEND ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 353, AS AMENDED, TO ADD A CLASSIFICATION
AND REZONE A PORTION OF PARCEL 3, ASSESSOR'S MAP OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO #6
WHEREAS, public necessity and convenience and the general welfare requires
the Zoning Ordinance No. 353, as amended, be further amended to provide a classifica-
tion called Professional Executive Research Dfstrlc~ or'p-1District,:sections 4.50
et. seq.; and further to rezone a portion of Parcel 3, Assessor's Map of South San
Francisco ~6, from PCM classification to said P-1 classification, said parcel is more
particularly described hereinafter, and
WHEREAS, theCity Council has duly considered the Professional Executive
Research District Classification and determined that public necessity and convenience
and the general welfare requires the amendment of the Zoning Ordinance to add said
classification and rezone said parcel. A description of said P-1 classification is
attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, and
WHEREAS, the City Council pursuant to Ordinance No. 353, Section 6.6 et. seq.,
desires to initiate said amendment and rezoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that said City Council does hereby de~lare ~ $ intention to further amend
Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Francieoo #353, as amended, so as to add
thereto classificationof Professional Executive Research District or P-1 District,
Section 4.50 et.seq.; and further to amend Section 2.2, as amended, so as to rezone a
certain portion of a parcel of land fr~m PCM Classification to said P-1 Classification.
The said P-1 Classification is as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and
by this reference made a part hereof. Said property is situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and is more par-
ticularly described as follows:
BE6INNING at the most Westerly corner of that
certain 7.84 acre parcel of land conveyed by Deed
by the South San Francisco Land and Improvement
Company, a corporation, to the City of South San
Francisco which was recorded May 2, 1934 in Book
618 of Official Records at pageo478, San Mateo
County Records; thence South 15 33' West 42.17
feet to an intersection with the Northerly line of
the Southern Pacific Right of' Way (Valencia Street
Branch); thence North 55 59' 10" West 2~8.11 feet
along said Right of Way; thence North 15 33' East
530 feet, more or less, to the center line of the
Drainage Canal Easement (50 feet wide) as granted
by the South San Francisco Land and Improvement
Company .to the City of South San Francisco in Deed
dated May 8, 1935 and recorded February 13, 1936
in Book 674 of Official Records at page 419; thence
along said center line S. 59 39' 57" E. 243.39
fret to the Northwesterly line of the above men-
tioned 7.84 Acre tract; thence along said North-
westerly line S. 15 33' W. 500 feet, more or less,
to the point of beginning.
Said property is also known as a portion'of. Parcel 3, AsSesSor's Map of South San
Francisco #6.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of South
San Francisco hold a public hearing as required by law on said proposed amendments,
giving the required notice, and following said hearing make a report of its find-
ings and recommendations with respect to the proposed amendments, filing with the
City Council an attested copy of such report within the minimum time prescribed by
ordinance. Said filing with the City Council may be accomplished by filing said
report with the Clerk of the City of South San Francisco.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at such time as the Planning Commission
shall render its report to the City Council, as hereinbefore stated, the City Clerk
shall set the matter for public hearing before the City Council and cause notice
thereof to be published as required by law.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of
South San FranciSco at a regular meeting held on the 1st day of
December, 1958, by the following vote:
