HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2750-1959RESOLUTION NO. 2750 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, SAID TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN AS PONDEROSA HILLS WHEREAS, the City council of the City of South San Francisco has received a written petition from CHARLES NIEMELA and VIOLA Eo NIEMELA, his wife; MARGARET E. FRANZEN; L. H. COMER and VIOLET Eo COMER, his wife; and RAYMOND DeNARDI and CAROLINE DeNARDI, his wife, to annex to said City of South San Francisco certain uninhabited territory situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, more particularly described hereinafter, and WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is in fact uninhabited terri- tory, and WHEREAS, said City Council has found, and does hereby find, that said CHARLES NIEMELA and VIOLA E. NIEMELA, his wife; MARGARET E. FRANZEN; L. H. COMER and VIOLET E. COMER, his wife; and RAYMOND DeNARDI and CAROLINE DeNARDI, his wife, are the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the land in the territory by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, and WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of the County of'San Mateo has certified to the definiteness and certainty of the boundaries of said property proposed to be annexed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the description of the boundaries of the territory proposed for annexa- tion is as follows: BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the City Limits Line of the City of South San Francisco as established by Ordinance No. 249 adopted August 19, 1946, with the northwesterly line of Ponderosa Road as said road is shown on that certain map entitled, "AVALON PARK NO. 3 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo on the 28th day of July, 1954, in Volume 39 of maps at Pages 46 and 47, said point of intersection being the most northerly corner of said AVALON PARK NO. 3. Running thence from said point of beginning, leaving said City Limits Line as established by said Ordinance No. 249 on and along said northwesterly line of Ponderosa Road, North 55° 07' East 701.40 feet more or less to a point of inter- section of said. northwesterly line with the northwesterly line of that certain annexation to the City of South San Francisco by Ordinance No. 368 adopted July 18, 1955 (Kiiski Addition); thence South 31° 17' 40" East 259.08 feet more or less along said northwesterly line of said annexation to a point of inter- section with the northeasterly corner of that certain annexation to the City of South San Francisco by Ordinance No. 422 adopted December 2, 1957, (Horner- Bonino Territory); thence along the northwesterly line of said annexation South 58° 42' 20" West 139.91 feet; thence continuing along the line of said annexation South 31° 17' 40" East 126.31 feet to a point in the City Limits Line on the northwesterly boundary of Lot 17, Block 15, as said lot is shown on that certain Map entitled, "AVALON PARK NO. 4 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF- ORNIA'', which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo on the 13th day of June, 1956, in Volume 45 of Maps at page 27; thence O , O along said City Limits Line, South 53 00 West 68.30 feet; thence South 31 57' West 192.88 feet to a point on Lot 10, Block 15, in said AVALON PARK NO. 3; thence continuing along said City Limits Line, North 85° 58' West 182.69 feet; thence South 77° 52' 30" West 180.50 feet; thence North 31° 17' 40" west 269.69 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said territory is designated by name of Ponderosa Hills for purposes of identification. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Monday, the 4th day of May, 1959, at the hour of 8 ~'clock p.m. in the Council Cham- bers of the City Hall in said City of South San Francisco be, and the same are, fixed as the time and place when and where any person or persons owning real property within the territory hereinbefore described, and so proposed to be annexed, and having any objection to the proposed annexation of said territory may appear before said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be annexed. The City Clerk of said City shall cause a copy of this resolution to be pub- lished once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in South San Francisco Enterprise- Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, and likewise for two (2) consecutive weeks in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of San Mateo, but elsewhere than in the City of South San Francisco, both of said publications to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the hearing provided for in the paragraph next above, and give any and all other notices required by law. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 16th day of March, 1959, by the following vote: AYES, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi, Leo J. Ryan and Patrick E. Ahern. NOES, None ABSENT, None ATTEST: ARTHUR A. RODONDI CITY CLERK
