HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3000-1960RESOLUTION NO. 3000 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE IMMEDIATE' EXPENDITURE OF PUBLIC MONIES TO SAFEGUARD HEALTH AND PROPERTY BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of t~e City of South San Francisco that: WHEREAS, the City Council of the C~ty of South San Francisco finds that t~e sanitary sewer line across the Lowrie Paving Company's property, which generally serves the following areas to wit: Brentwood, Avalon Park, Country Club Park, Francisco Terrace and in general the southern industrial are~ of the City of South San Francisco, is frac- tured aha broken for a distance of approximately three hundred and sixty feet (360') all to the effect that the condition poses the necessity to do emergency work to prevent a further public calamity and safeguard the health and Property. of the people of South San F~ancisco, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco finds and determines that, because of these facts the threat of further damage to said sewer line and subse- quent threat to the health, welfare and property of the people in said areas, a condition dangerous to the public welfare exists and it is necessary to do said emergency work and that the public interest and necessity demands the immediate expenditure of public monies to safeguard the health and property of the people in said areas. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: 1. The City Council of the City of South San Francisco declares that the public interest and necessity demands the immediate expenditure of public monies to safeguard health and property. 2. The City Manager of the City of South San Francisco is authorized to expend public monies in accordance with Section 37906 of the Government Code; execute a contract for the performance of said work, said contract being the City's standard form of contract for public works, and the City Clerk of the City ~f South San Francisco shall attest his signature thereto. 3. The lowest responsible bidder to wit: Joseph Kaplan, 40 Forest Grove Drive, Daly City, California, be authorized to perform the work set forth in the special provis- ions and specifications for the removal and replacement of sanitary sewer pipe (Lowrie Pav- ing Company's site) as prepared by the Director of Public Works for the sum of EIGHT THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SIX DOLLARS AND TWENTY-FIVE CENTS ($8,906.25); and in accordance with the terms of said contract and the required surety bonds and insurance certificates shall be deposited with the City Clerk.
