HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3204-1961RESOLUTION NO. 320k A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH COMPENSATION RATES RECOMMENDED FOR BENCH MARK POSITIONS IN THE WAGE STABILIZATION COMMITTEE REPORT MARCH -- 1961 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco desires to cooperate with the other participating cities in providing equitable comparable salaries for certain positions designated as Bench Mark Positions in the Wage Stabilization Committee Report - March 1961. NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Council does hereby declare its intention to adjust the BenchMark Positions designated in the Wage Stabilization Committee Report - March 1961 provided that the other participating cities schedule the same or substantially the same adjustments; said adjustments and Cost of Living Increment to be scheduled as follows: Proposed Schedule of Adjustments: 1. For the pay periods 1961-62 Bench Mark Position salaries shall adjust so that said salaries shall be as follows: Police Officer' $560 Fireman 560 Sewage Treatment Plant Operator 518 Clerk-Typist 380 Stenographer-Clerk SOO Laborer ~65 Maintenance Man 505 2. FOr the pay periods 1962-63 and 1963-64 Cost of Living Increment shall be added to the Bench Mark Positions for each pay period by averaging the accepted consumer price indices for the San Francisco Bay Area to wit: average of accepted consumer indices in the BayArea. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Bench Mark Ceilings shall be reviewed periodically during the pay periods 1961-62 through 1963-64 to determine whether said ceilings plus Cost of Living Increment as programmed in the participating cities are achieving or will achieve equitable comparable salary levels. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 5th day of June, 1961, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen: Noes ~ Absent, " G.
