HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3209-1961RESOLUTION NO. 3209 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEER AND ATTORNEYS -- MILLER AVENUE AND WILLOW AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that WHEREAS, this Council has determined to undertake proceedings pursuant to appropriate assessment and assessment bond acts for the acquisition and construction of public improvements in said City; WHE~, the public interest and general welfare will be served by appointing and employing engineers and attorneys for the preparation and conduct of said proceedings and work in connection with said improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. That Daniel Coleman Engineering Company, San Francisco, California, be, and he is hereby, appointed as Engineer of Work and employed to do and perform all engineering work necessary in and for said proceedings, including all preliminary surveying, preparation of report, plans, profiles, specifications, estimate of costs, diagram, assessment, setting grade stakes and supervision of work; that his compensation be, and it is hereby, fixed at the customary amount paid therefor by the City, and to be assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings. 2. The City Engineer of said City is hereby directed to examine and approve the engineering documents, and to provide inspection of the construction of said improvements and to accept said work when done to his satisfaction. The cost of said inspection shall be assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings. 3. That the law firms of John Noonan, City Attorney, and Kirkbride, Wilson, Harzfeld & Wallace, San Mateo, California, be, and they are hereby,appointed and employed to do and perform all legal services required iu the conduct of said proceedings, including the preparation of all papers not required to be prepared by the Engineer, examining and approving the engineering documents and advising the Engineer iu the preparation of his work, advising all City officials on allmatters relating.thereto when called upon, and furnishing their legal opinion on the validity of said proceed- ings and bonds, and that their compensation be, and it is hereby, fixed at 2~ of the acquisition and construction cost, exclusive of iucldentals, or $500, whichever is greater, together with reasonable fees for services tu acquiring easements or iu eminent domain or other suits, to be assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 19th day of June, 1961, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen: Noes, " Absent, " G.
