RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO OF UNINHABITED TERRI-
TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "PARKWOOD
COMMUNITY METHODIST CHURCH ANNEXATION", AND GIVING
NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of
the land in the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as
shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, was filed
with the Council of the City of South San Francisco ou August 21, 1961, requestin~
annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said City.
2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the
City of South San Francisco and which said City and its Council propose to annex,
is situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby designated
"Parkwood Community Methodist Church Annexation", and described as follows:
A portion of the Southeasterly 25 feet of Alta Vista Drive, (formerly
Fairway Drive) and lots 16 and 17, Block C, as designated on that certain map
entitled, TRACT NO. 534, MAP NO. I COUNTRY CLUB PAR~" recorded May 9th, 1941, iu
Volume 23 of Maps at Pages 54, 55 and 56, San Mateo County Records, more particu-
larly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the Southwesterly
line of said Lot 17 with the northerly corporate limits line
of the City of South San Francisco as said corporate limits
line was established by 0rdiuance No. 238 passed and adopted
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on May
th, 1945; thence leaving said corporate limits along said
Southwesterly line of Lot 17 and the Northwesterly prolonga-
tion thereof, North 31° 15' West 305.00 feet to the center
line of Alta Vista Drive, (Fair~ay Drive on said map); thence
along said center line North 58~ 45' East 280.00 feet to the
point of intersection of the Northwesterly prolongation of the
Northeasterly line of said Lot 16; thence along said prolonga-
tion and said Northeasterly line of Lot 16, South 31° 15' East
a distance of 305.00 feet to the Easterly corner of said Lot
16 and a point iu said corporate limits of South San Francisco;
thence along the Southeasterly line of said Lots 16 and 17
and said corporate limits South 58° 45' West 280.00 feet to
the point of beginning.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of San Mateo County, California,
did iu session duly assembled ou Thursday, August 3, 1961, consider the proposed
annexation boundaries of said "Parkwood Community Methodist Church Annexation", as
above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said
annexation.
4. That Monday, October 2, 1961, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council
Chambers iu the City Hall in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning
real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be
annexed to the City of South San Francisco, and haviuE any objections to the pro-
posed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of South San Francisco
and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the City
of South San Francisco. The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time
before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the descrip-
tion and area of such property, in general terms.
5J The City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby author-
ized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a week, in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general
circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, the city to which it is
proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also iu the Advance-Star, a news-
paper of general circulation published outside the City of South San Francisco,

but iu San Mateo County, California, the county iu which is located the territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of South San Francisco, said publication to be
complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom
laud within the territory proposed to be annexed was assessed iu the last equalized
county assessment roll available ou the date the above said proceedings were ini-
tiated, at the addresses shown ou said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and
to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands
in which he has au interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such no-
tice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing ou
the proposed annexation.
7. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such pro-
posed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, such no-
tice to be given not less .than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing ou
the proposed annexation.
8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed to said
City, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire
protection district, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such
proposed annexation to be mailed to the ~overulug body of such district, such
notice to be sent not less than ten (10)-days before the first public hearing upon
such proposed annexation.
9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to
such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by
law.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolu~ on was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this
21st day of August, 1961, by the following vote:
