HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3374-1962RESOLUTION NO. 3374 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRAN- CISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO FOLLOW THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN PARAGRAPHS 7 AND 8 OF RESOLUTION #382 OF THE REGIONAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD, SAN FRANCISCO BAY REGION, PASSED NOVEMBER 16, 1961, AND FORWARDING REPORT AND TIME SCHEDULE AS REQUIRED BY PARAGRAPH 15 THEREOF BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said City Councit does hereby declare its intention to follow the requirements set forth in Paragraphs 7 and 8 of Resolution No. 382 of the Regional Water Pollution Control Board, San Francisco Bay Re~ion, passed November 16, 1961, and does herewith forward for filin_~ the report and time schedule required by Para_~raph 15 thereof, at- tached hereto as Exhibit A. I hereby certify that the fore~oin~ resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meetin~ held on the 5th day of February, 1962, by the followin~ vote: Ayes, Councilmen Noes, Absent, Guido J. RODONDI City Clerk EXHIBIT "A" ACTION OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO-SAN BRUNO JOINT SEWAGE PLANT IN COM- PLIANCE WITH RESOLUTION 382 OF THE BAY AREA WATER POLLUTION BOARD The City of South San Francisco, in compliance with Resolution 382 of the Bay Area Water Pollution Board has undertaken the followin~ actions: Has purchased a boat to carry out the monitorin~ program outlined in Resolution 382, Has purchased all necessary suppIies and equipment to carry out testing proEram set forth except for bio-assay tests which will have to be made by outside laboratories equipped to provide this service, Commenced on January 24, 1962, sampling of treatment plant affluent, Will commence within the next few weeks ~atherin~ and testin~ samples in the receiving waters of San Francisco Bay as outlined in the Reso- lution. 3,50 RESOLUTION NO. 3374 (Continued): PROPOSED SCH]EDULE FOR IMPROVEMENT AND EXPANSION OF JOINT SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - SAN BRUNO First week March 1962: Consultln~ engineers complete and submit report outlinin~ proposed projects and costs. Prior to March 21,1962: Cities submit application for Federal Grant under Public Law 660. Prior to Oct. 1962: Upon approval of Cities, engineers to be~in final plans and specifications. Prior to 0ct. 1962: Engineers to complete final plans and specifications as provided by a~reement with Housin~ & Home Financin~ A~ency. Upon notification of results of application for funds under Public Law 660 Councils to determine method of financing. Fall 1962: Call Bond Election if such action is indicated. Late 1962: If Bond Election successful, undertake construction. January 1, ~ Project completed, plant ready for operation. Harry N. Jenks and John H. Jenks, Consultin~ Engineers, advise it may be possible that construction of paint enlargements could be pro~rammed in such a way that a certain portion of the new facilities wouId be constructed and used while necessary revisions are bein~ made to the existin~ plant, thus there will be some treatment afforded at all times durin~ construction.
