A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS
WILLOW STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, Califor-
nia, that
WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 19th day of June, 1961, adopt its
Resolution of Intention No. 3211 to order the ~radin~, removin~ trees, bushes and
existin~ structures, and construction of pavement, curbs, ~utters, sidewalks, drive-
way aprons, storm drainage facilities, sanitary sewer mains and appurtenances, and
street signs in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said
Resolution of Intention;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish
once a week for two weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper
published and circulated in said City, a notice invitin~ sealed proposals or bids
for the construction of said improvements, and referrin~ to the plans and specifica-
tions on file in the office of said City, the first of which publications shall be
at least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for openin~ bids.
Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified
check payable to the order of the City amountin~ to ten per cent of the bid, or by
a bond in said amount and payable to said City si~ned by the bidder and a corporate
surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall Justify before any officer com-
petent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory
exemptions. Said check shall be forfe~ited or said bond shall become payable to said
City in case the bidder depositin~ the same does not, within fifteen days after
written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with
the City.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this
City on or before 2:00 o'clock P.M., on the 9th day of April, 1962, said time bein~
not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice.
Bids will be publicly opened and examined and declared on said day and hour and re-
ferred to the City Council at its meetin~ at 8:00 P.M., on April 16, 1962.
I hereby certify that the fore~oin~ resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meetin~ held this 5th
day of March, 1962, by the followin~ vote:
