HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3409-1962RESOLUTION NO. 3409 RESOLUTION TO REMOVE WEEDS -- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING WEEDS UPON STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND VACANT AND UNIMPROVED PROPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND FIXING THE TIME FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND ORDER ABATING SAID NUISANCE BE IT RESOLVED by the C~.ty Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: Said City Council hereby determines that weeds which have attained such a large ~rowth as to become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, and which'are now ~rowin~ upon public streets, sidewalks and vacant and unimproved property in the City of South San Francisco as set forth in Appendix A to this resolution describin~ said properties by lot and block numbers and hereby re- ferred to and made part of this resolution by said reference as if set forth verbatim, to be a public nuisance which must be abated by their removal. Otherwise said weeds will be removed and the nuisance abated by the City authorities, the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lots of land from which such weeds are re- moved, and such cost will constitute a lien upon such land until the same is paid. Said City Council hereby fixes Monday, the 16th day of April, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City as the time and place when and where any and all persons havin~ any objections may appear before said City Council and show cause why the work of said proposed removal of weeds shall not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution to be published two successive weeks in the "Enterprise-Journal", said publication to be completed ten days prior to said hearin6; and to post a Notice to remove weeds and of the hearin~ on, adjacent to or near the property from which the weeds are to be removed, said postin~ to be completed ten days prior to said hearing; and further to mail a copy of the No- tice to the owner of the lot from which weeds are to be removed.
