A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED
PROPOSALS - PECK'S SUBDIVISION ~
that
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California,
WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 5th day of February, 1962, adopt its
Resolution of Intention No. 3384 to order ~radin~, removin~ existin~ curbs, ~utters,
driveways and sidewalks, and the construction of pavement, curbs, ~utters, sidewalks,
driveways, sanitary sewer mains and appurtenances in said City, all as more particu-
larly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish
once a week for two weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper
published and circulated in said City, a notice invitin~ sealed proposals or bids for
the construction of said improvements, and referrin~ to the plans and specifications on
file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least
fOurteen days prior to the time fixed for openin~ bids.
Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check
payable to the order of the City amountin~ to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in
said amount and payable to said City si~ned by the bidder and a corporate surety or by
the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to adminis-
ter an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said
check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the
bidder depositin~ the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the
contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this
City on or before 10:00 o'clock A.M. on the llth day of September, 1962, said time be-
ing not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice.
Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared on said day and hour and referred
to the Council at its meetin~ at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on September 17, 1962.
