HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 3532-1962RESOLUTION NO. 3532 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR PROTEST BY PROPERTY OWNERS BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco: 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco to call a special election to be held in certain inhabited territory con- ti~uous to said City, proposed to be annexed thereto, for the purpose of submittin~ to the qualified electors residin~ in said territory the question of whether or not said territory shall be annexed to the City of South San Francisco, and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after annexation equally with property within the City of South San Francisco to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of South San Francisco, outstanding, or authorized, at the day of the first publication of the Notice of Election, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal im- provements. Said territory is described as follows: TREASURE ISLAND ANNEXATION BEGINNING at a point on the existin~ corporate limit line of the City of South San Francisco as established by City Ordinance No. 299, (Winston Manor Annexation) passed by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on August 21, t950; said point of be~innin~ bein~ a 3/4" iron pipe monument set in the Eastern line of E1Camino Real (~tate Highway) at the Southern corner of that certain 2.01 acre tract as conveyed to M. Whelen by deed recorded February 18, 1905 in Book 113 of Deeds at pa~e 374, Records of San Mateo Coun- ty; said corner point also bein~ a point on the Corporate limit Iine of the Town of Colma as established by the Resolution for incorporation of the Town of Lawndale (now the Town of Colma) by the San Mateo County Board of Super- visors - filed August 4, 1924 in minutes Book No. 24 at pa~e 91 in Office of the County Clerk of San Mateo County; thence on and alon~ said corporate limit of the Town of Colma and alon~ the Southeastern Iine of said 2.01 acre tract North 49° 48' 20" East 409.48 feet to a 3/4" iron pipe monument set in the Western line of the Market Street Railroad Company right of way; thence alon~ said Market Street Railway Company right of way, and continuin~ on and alon~ the corporate limit of the Town of Co~ma - South 29© 17' East 565.80 feet, thence alon~ the arc of a curve to the left havin~ a radius of 2954.93 feet and a central an~le of 10© 12' 10" for a distance of 526.19 feet to the North- western Iine of that certain 62.52 acre Tract as conveyed to Frank La~omarsino by deed recorded November 19, 1914 in Book 235 of Deeds at pa~e 452 to the existin~ corporate limit line of the City of South San Francisco as established by the above described Winston Manor Annexation; thence on and aIon~ said cor- porate limit of the City of South San Francisco and the Northwestern line of said 62.52 acre tract South 44° 51' 50" West 753.36 feet to the 3/4" iron pipe monument set in the Eastern line of the E1Camino Real (State Highway); thence alon~ the existin~ corporate limit and easterly side of E1Camino Real (State Highway) the followin~ courses and distances: North 41° 33' West 203.70 feet; alon~ the arc of a curve to the right havin~ a radius of 467 feet and a cen- tral annie of 51° 14' 45" for a distance of 417.69 feet; North 9° 41' 45" East 179.51 feet; alon~ the arc of curve to the left havin~ a radius of 633 feet and a central an~le of 53° 55' 15" for a distance of 595.71 feet, and thence North 44° 13' 30~ West 25.40 feet to the point of beginning. Containin~ 15.935 acres, more or less. 2. That said territory hereby is designated and identified as "Treasure Island Annexation". 3. Notice is hereby ~iven that on the day of , 19 , at the hour of in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of South San Francisco, any person ownin~ reaI property within the territory may appear before the City Council concernin~ written protest a~ainst the annexation filed pursuant to Government Code 35120, Such protest a~ainst the annexation must be in writin~ and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation; and the street address or other description of the'property sufficient to identify it on the Iast equalized assessment roll. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and cause same to be published once a week for two successive weeks prior to the hearin~ in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of ~n~ral_~ ~ circulation published in the City of South San Francisco. The City Clerk shall also cause written notice of such pro- posed annexation to be mailed to each owner of an equitable or legal interest in land, other than an easement or right of way, within the territory to be annexed who has filed his name and address and a ~eneral description of such land, sufficient to iden- tify it on the last equalized county assessment roll, with said Clerk. Said notice shall be mailed not later than twenty (20) days before the first public hearin~ on the proposed annexation. I hereby certify that the fore~oin~ resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meetin~ held on the 6th day of August, 1962, by the followin~ vote: Ayes, Councilmen 1, Noes, ,!
