HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 04-2014RESOLUTION NO. 04 -2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE REPAIR OF CITY BRIDGES PROJECT AND AMEND THE 2013 -2014 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET BY ADDING $123,976 IN FEDERAL GRANT FUNDING WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") awarded the Repair of City Bridges Project ( "Project ") to Ashron Construction and Restoration, Inc. of Milpitas, California on September 25, 2013 and construction was completed in late December 2013; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration obligated a grant to the City in the amount of $429,964; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration grant will reimburse the City 88.53 percent of the total construction and construction engineering/management cost of the Project; and WHEREAS, $123,976 of Federal Highway Administration grant is not currently reflected in the 2013 -2014 Capital Improvement Program ( "CIP "); and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration has notified the City that those additional funds are available; and WHEREAS, amending the 2013 -2014 CIP will show the correct amount of grant funds available to the City for reimbursement; and WHEREAS, using such funds will free up Measure A funds for other needed street projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts the Repair of City Bridges Project in accordance with the plans and specifications and approves a resolution amending the 2013 -2014 Capital Improvement Program Budget by adding $123,976. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Repair of City Bridges Project Budget is amended by adding $123,976. -1- I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8t' day of January, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N Addiego Pradeep Gupta and Liza Normandy Vice Mayor Richard A Garbarino and Mayor Karyl Matsumoto NOES: ABSTAIN: N ABSENT: -2- ATTEST: Anna Brown, Deputy City Clerk
