CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A MAINTENANCE
CONTRACT TO GONZALEZ CONSTRUCTION AND
GENERAL CONTRACTOR, INC, OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO, CA., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$35,519 FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF CITY -
OWNED HOUSING UNITS
WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ( "City ") staff issued a request for proposals for
the Repair of City Owned Housing Units on November 5, 2013, and did not received receive any
bids in response; and
WHEREAS, City staff entered into negotiations with Gonzalez Construction and General
Contractor, Inc., ( "Gonzalez ") of South San Francisco, California; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding a construction contract to Gonzalez
Construction and General Contractor, Inc., ( "Gonzalez ") of South San Francisco, California, in
an amount not to exceed $35,519; and
WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2013 -2014 ECD
Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards a construction contract for the Repair of City
Owned Housing Units to Gonzalez Construction and General Contractor, Inc., of South San
Francisco, California, in an amount not to exceed $35,519 conditioned on Gonzalez's timely
execution and submission of the contract and all required documents, including but not limited
to, certificates of insurance and endorsements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Gonzalez's signed contract and all
other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of
January, 2014 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N Addiego PradeepGupta and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Richard A Garbarino and Mayor Karel Matsumoto
