HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 08-2014RESOLUTION NO. 08 -2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE CITY OF PACIFICA FOR POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco Police Department has been providing police communications services to Pacifica for the past two (2) years; and WHEREAS, unless extended, the current agreement between the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") and the City of Pacifica ( "Pacifica ") would expire in October of 2014; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Police Department to enter into an amendment to the agreement with Pacifica in order to continue to provide police communications services to Pacifica; and WHEREAS, adequate funding and staffing for these services is presently allocated in the Police Department's current operating budget and no modifications are required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby approves an amendment to the agreement with the City of Pacifica at a cost of $620,000 per year in order to continue to provide Pacifica with police communication services. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of South San Francisco is hereby authorized and directed to execute the amendment to the agreement on behalf of the City of South San Francisco, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney, and to take any other action consistent with the intent of this Resolution. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 22" day of January, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Karyl Matsumoto NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: Councilmembers Pradeep Gupta, and Liza Normandy ATTEST: Anna Brown, Deputy City Clerk
