CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO ROBERTSON INDUSTRIES, INC. OF
PHOENIX, ARIZONA FOR THE CITY HALL TOT LOT
SAFETY RESURFACING INSTALLATION PROJECT IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $124,160, AMENDING THE
2013 -2014 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO
INCLUDE THE PROJECT, AND APPROPRIATING A
PROJECT BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $142,760 FROM
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
FUNDS
WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ( "City ") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for
the City Hall Tot Lot Safety Surfacing Installation Project ( "Project ") and on January 28, 2014,
received one (1) bid in response; and
WHEREAS, Robertson Industries, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona, was the lowest responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract to Robertson
Industries, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona, in an amount not to exceed $124,160; and
WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco's 2013 -2014 Capital Improvement Program
( "CIP ") will be amended to include the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Project will be funded by the Community Development Block Grant
funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the City Hall Tot Lot
Safety Surfacing Installation Project to Robertson Industries, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona, in an
amount not to exceed $124,160 conditioned on Robertson Industries, Inc.'s timely execution of
the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to,
certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
authorizes the Finance Department to establish the Project Budget consistent with the
information contained in the staff report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby amends the 2013 -2014
Capital Improvement Program to include the City Hall Tot Lot Safety Surfacing Installation
Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Robertson Industries, Inc.'s signed
contract and all other documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of
February, 2014 by the following vote:
