CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSULTING SERVICES
AGREEMENT TO URS CORPORATION OF SAN JOSE,
CALIFORNIA FOR THE US 101 /PRODUCE AVENUE
INTERCHANGE PROJECT INITIATION DOCUMENT (PID)
PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $449,804.
WHEREAS, on December 31, 2014, City of South San Francisco ( "City ") staff issued a
Request for Proposals ( "RFP ") for the US 101 /Produce Avenue Interchange Project ( "Project ");
and
WHEREAS, on February 7, 2014, staff received proposals from six (6) firms; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing the proposals and interviewing all six (6) firms, URS
Corporation was ranked highest based on their project understanding, qualifications and
expertise, interview, and experience; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the consulting services agreement for the
Project to URS Corporation ( "URS ") of San Jose, California in an amount not to exceed
$449,804; and
WHEREAS, funding for the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's
2013 -2014 Capital Improvement Program ( "CIP ").
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the consulting services agreement for the US
101 /Produce Avenue Interchange Project to URS Corporation of San Jose, California, in an
amount not to exceed $449,804 conditioned on URS's timely execution of the Project contract
and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, certificates of insurance
and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
authorizes the Finance Department to establish the Project Budget consistent with the
information contained in the staff report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by URS's signed contract and all other
documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of
March, 2014 by the following vote:
