CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING (MOU) AND RELATED RESIDENTIAL
LEASE AGREEMENTS WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN
MATEO HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY TO PROVIDE
HOUSING FOR THE EMANCIPATED YOUTH FOSTER
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency ( "HSA ") seeks to lease
City owned low income residential units for use by the County's Emancipated Foster Youth
Program; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to lease the following units to the HSA subject to the
provisions of the attached Lease Agreement(s) and MOU: 310A Miller Avenue; 312A, Miller
Avenue; 314 Miller Avenue; 311 Tamarack Avenue; and 313 A, Tamarack Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City and the HSA seek to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding
("MOU ") to establish responsibilities related to the use of the residential units for the HSA's
Emancipated Foster Youth Program; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends the execution of the MOU and the related residential
lease agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of South San Francisco does hereby resolve as follows:
1. The Recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The MOU between the County of San Mateo HSA and the City of South San
Francisco related to the Emancipated Foster Youth Program is hereby approved.
3. The Lease Agreements between the City of South San Francisco and the County
of San Mateo HSA for the residential units above listed are hereby approved.
4. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the MOU and the
Lease Agreement(s) on behalf of the City, and to take such other and further
actions as are necessary and appropriate to implement the intent of this
Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 96 day of
April, 2014 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N Addiego Pradeep Gupta and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor Richard A Garbarino and Mayor Karel Matsumoto
