HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 73-2014RESOLUTION NO. 73 -2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A CALIFORNIA WASTEWATER PROCESS OPTIMIZATION PROGRAM (CALPOP) PROGRAM PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT TO RECEIVE AN INCENTIVE OF $27,700 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BLOWER #9 AT THE WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLANT (WQCP) WHEREAS, in 2011, the City of South San Francisco participated in the Ca1POP program; and WHEREAS, the City replaced Blower #8 at the WQCP with an energy efficient turbo blower and received an incentive of $45,487 from the CalPOP program; and WHEREAS, WQCP staff recommends replacing Blower #9 because the blower is reaching its useful life and is not energy efficient; and WHEREAS, City staff recommends participation in the Ca1POP program to help offset the costs of the new turbo blower; and WHEREAS, the replacement of Blower #9 with a new turbo blower is listed as a new project in the Capital Improvement Program for FY 14/15. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to sign the California Wastewater Process Optimization Program (Ca1POP) Program Participation Agreement to allow the City to receive a minimum incentive of $27,000 to help offset the project costs of replacing Blower #9 with an energy efficient turbo blower. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of July, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Pradeep Gupta, and Liza Normandy Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Karyl Matsumoto NOES: None ABSTAIN: ABSENT: ATTEST. Anna Brown, Deputy City Clerk
