CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING AN EXISTING ON -CALL
CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
GHIRARDELLI ASSOCIATES OF OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
TO INCLUDE SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE L -132 PG &E
PIPELINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $446,662 AND APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN THE
SAME AMOUNT TO THE ENGINEERING DIVISION
OPERATING BUDGET FROM INSPECTION FEE REVENUES.
WHEREAS, on June 26th, 2013, City Council awarded a consulting services agreement
with Ghirardelli Associates ( "GA ") of Oakland, California, to provide on -call construction
management and inspection services; and
WHEREAS, construction of PG &E's L -132 Pipeline Replacement Project will begin in
the summer of 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient in -house staff to perform the inspection
services that are necessary to ensure that all construction activities meet City standards; and,
WHEREAS, PG &E has agreed to reimburse the City for the full cost of hiring GA to
provide the necessary inspection services via the City's existing on -call services agreement with
GA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby amends the existing on -call consulting services agreement
with Ghirardelli Associates of Oakland, California to include the L -132 PG &E Pipeline
Replacement Project in an amount not to exceed $446,662.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an amendment to the consulting services
agreement on behalf of the City upon timely submission by GA's signed contract amendment
and all other required documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby approves a budget amendment to appropriate $446,662 to the Engineering operating
budget, offset by a corresponding increase in Inspection Fee Revenue, with no net impact on
General Fund Reserves.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 91h day of
July, 2014 by the following vote:

Vice Mayor Richard A. Garbarino and Mayor Karvl Matsumoto
