HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 79-2014RESOLUTION NO. 79 -2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO THERMAL MECHANICAL, INC. OF SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA FOR THE MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUILDING (MSB) HVAC & FAN REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $993,569 AND APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 TO THE PROJECT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT SEIZURE FUND WHEREAS, City of South San Francisco ( "City ") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the Municipal Services Building (MSB) HVAC & Fan Replacement ( "Project ") and on June 12, 2014, received two (2) bids in response; and WHEREAS, Thermal Mechanical, Inc. of Santa Clara, California, was the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the base construction contract and the Gas Piping & Support alternate bid to Thermal Mechanical, Inc. of Santa Clara, California, in a total amount not to exceed $993,569; and WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $30,000 need to be appropriated to the Project from the Police Department Seizure Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the base construction contract and the Gas Piping & Support alternate bid for the Municipal Services Building (MSB) HVAC & Fan Replacement Project to Thermal Mechanical, Inc. of Santa Clara, California, in a total amount not to exceed $993,569, conditioned on Thermal Mechanical Inc.'s timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco authorizes a budget amendment by appropriating an additional $30,000 to the Project, funded by Police Asset Seizure funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by Thermal Mechanical, Inc. signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 9h day of July, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
