HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 97-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 97-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION APPROVING POSITION CHANGES AND AMENDMENT OF THE SALARY SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE AUGUST 13, 2014 BY ASSIGNING A SALARY RANGE FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR JOB CLASSIFICATION IN THE MID-MANAGEMENT BARGAINING UNIT FOR THE REORGANIZATION OF THE ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, on June 11, 2014, the City of South San Francisco ("City") approved an operating budget for Fiscal Year 2014-15; and WHEREAS, with retirements of several executive managers and the elimination of redevelopment agencies, the City proposes to reorganize the Economic & Community Development Department ("ECD")with revisions to the staffing and department activities; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has authorized the creation a Community Development Coordinator classification as authorized by Council in Ordinance 1447-2011; Whereas, pursuant to Municipal Code 3.04.020, Council must approve the salary range for the newly created Community Development Coordinator classification; Step 1 Ste p 2 ' Step 3 r Ste� 4 i S te 5 COMMUNITY r Hourly Rate 34.09 35.79 37.58 39.46 141.43 1 DEVELOPMENT Bi-Weekly COORDINATOR Rate j 2727.20 2863.20 3006.40 3156.80 3314.40 Monthly 1 5908.93 16203.60 6513.87 6839.73 X7181.20 WHEREAS, the changes recommended will provide for a more efficient and responsive department for changing city priorities, including enhancing the City's efforts at promoting economic development. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby approve the salary range for Community Development Coordinator and position and staffing changes as shown on Attachment A for the ECD Department with no net cost to the General Fund in 2014-15; and NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council does hereby approve the transfer of the Parking Meter Service Worker from ECD to Public Works, along with the responsibilities for overall parking district operations and maintenance functions. Those functions are already budgeted in the Parking District Fund, and will have no impact on the Public Works General Fund budget. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of August, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
