Meeting called to order at 8'05 O'Clock F.M. by Trustee F.A.Ounningham Pres. cf t he Board of TruStees. Roll call found all Trustees present,to wit; ~.W.Holston, T.L.Hickey, J.H.KeLL~ ~.0.1io. Govern and ~.A.Cu~in~ham. Minutes of the two previous meetings were read and approved with the excepti of an error in the date of the special meeting which was held on April 29th instead of ~ay 29th as rea~ after which correction the minutes of that meetia~ was ~ccepted as corrected. A petition was received from Frank Fallon asking permis~l~ from the Board of Trustees to hold amatuer boxing contests in the City of South San Erancisco, for one year. Moved by ~rustee ~'.~o Govern seconded by Trustee T.L.Hicke that the application be laid over. ~arried j$plications were received from A.G. Biss*tt and 0. Biamchin~i for the positio~ of driving water wagon . Moved by ~rustee Kelley seconded by ~rustee Holston that A~ G. Bissett be given the work of furnishing team and driver for water wago~ at rate of five (5)dollars per day. Carried A petition was received from H.J.Vandenbos asking a refund on a portion of his "Class R"Liquor Licenses he having sold his business, Moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Hickey that the request be refus~A Carried In response to request from the San Mateo County ~evelopment Association tha~~ zhe Board of Trustes of the Ci1~ of ~outh San Francisco appoint one of its members to represent South San Francisco on the ~oard of Governors, the Pres. of the Board appointed Trustee ~.L.Hickey. A communication was received from Chas. Robinson Clerk of the South S&n ~ran cisco school~istrict ssking permission to move the hose house on the school grounds from its present location. The matter was refered to the ~treet committee with powgP to act. zm ordinance entitled ~n ordinance defining the boundaries of Miller Avenue 'N~ple Ave, spruce zvenue,Magnolia Avenue,Orange Avenue, E~calyptus Avenue an& Chestnut ~venue and establishing official elevations on ~iller Avenue betwee~ the east line of Chestnut and the west line of ~ap!eAvenues, was read ~nd upon roll call was adopted as an ordinance of the City of South Sf~ Francisc by the following vote; Ayes, Trustees, G.W.Holston, T.L.Hickey,~.H.Melley, J.C.Mc Govern and Noes, Trustees ~one. Absent, Trustees ~one. A~s. Four. $.Will the grade over which they pass to the~ homes be better than at pres ent ? Ans. Yes. A.How many other families are there who will be benefitted by the improvment Twelve families. ~.~ill they be better accomidated than at the present time ? The following resolution was then introduced by Trustee J.H.Kelley Resolution Adopting Plans and Specifications ResOlved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco, That the~ plans and specifications for the following street work,towit; The improvment ofthat portion of Miller Avenue between the east line of Chestnut Avenue and the West line of Maple Avenue,including all street intersections by constructing concrete curbs therein on both sides thereof forthe full lenghtas above specified,except where such curbs are already constructed and by constructing concrete gutters therein on both sides thereof for the full lenght as above specified, exceptlngh however ,that portion of said Miller Avenue included between a certain line drawn through a point in the center line of said Avenue, and at right angels to the said center line, two hundred (200) feet east of the east line of Eucalyptus Avenue and a certain line drawn through a point in the center line of said Avenue five hundred(BOO) feet west of the west line of Eucalyptus Avenue: and by constr~ctin~ artificial stone sidewalks~ere~non~bO~h si~es.~thereof having a width of five[5) fee~ commencing two (2) feet from the property line and boundary line of said Avenue and extending five (§) feet towards the curb line for the full lenght as above specified,excepting where such sidewalks are already constructed; and by filing in earth back of said curbs so as to bring sidewalks between curbs and artificial stone sidewalks to official grade; and by grading said Avenue for its full width from curb to curb for the~full lenght as.above spec- ified so as to brin~ the surface of said Avenue to official grade, excepting where such grading has already been done; as prepared by the City Engineer of said City and submitted this 6th. day of May, I912, be and the same hereby adopted as and for the plans and specifications for doing said work. Smith City Clerk The following resolution was then introduced by TrUstee T.L.Hickey Resolution of Intention ~£ A Resolution of Intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco declaring its intention to improve Miller Avenue from the west line of Maple Avenue, to the East line of Chestnut Avenue, and declaring that serial B~ds shall be issued to represent the cost thereof. All work shall be done in accordance With the special plans and specificaticns heretofore adopted for doing said work and now on file in the office of the City Clerk The Board of Trustees under the authority conferred upon it by the provisions of that certain act of the Legislature of the State of California, approved April,Tth, IgII and known the improvement act of I9II, determines and declares that serial bonds shall be issued to represent the cost of said proposed improvements said bonds shall be ~erial extending over a period of nine ~9~ years from the second day of January next succeeding their date and shall be issued to represent mssessments twenty five ~251 dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty ~0~ days after the date of the warrant issued to the contractor or five days after the decision of the Board of Trustees on an a~peal an~ii~$ven anual proportion of the Principal sum of each Bo~l shall be payable by coupon on the second ~ ~ ca~ of Januar~ fo~ eac~ year i~s ds..te a~d ~.t:~ january s.n~. July/~TM each year at the rate of V~er-ce~t ter ~.~u~'' c.n ali s~s ur,i:a~.d the whole of said principal and intrest is paid, and said bonds shall be issued in accor- dance with the provisions of said improvment act of IgII. 'THE ENTERPRISE", aweekly newspaper printed and published and circulated in said City is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this resolution of intention shal~ be published and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution of intention to Be published by two insertions in said newspaper in the manner required by said improvement act of I9II, The Superintendent of Streets shall immediately cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work andinprovements and' in front of all the property liable to be assessed, notice of the passage of this resolution of intention in City of South San l~raneiseo, to order the following street work to be done in said City to wit; THat that portion of Miller Avenue between the west line of Maple Avenue and the ~. Moved by Trustee Mc Govern seconded by Trustee Kelley that the reports of all City Officers received at this meeting be accepted and placed on file. Carried ~ved by Trustee Mc Govern seconded by Trustee Holston that the present Board of Health be reapointed. Carried THe members of the said Board of Health are as follows to wit; Dr. H.GPlymire, E.E.Cunning ham,E.I~A Brown, W.L. HiCkey, and Geo. A. Kneese.
