HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1912-11-18 Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco, held, Monday November, I8, I912, This meeting was called to order at 8'I0 P.M. by Trustee P.A. Cunningham "President of the Board". Roll-call found the following Trustees present, to wit; G.W.HOLston, J.H.Kelloy, J.C. Mcgovern, and F.A. Cunningham. Trustee T.L. Hickey appearede after roll-call. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and appromed. A communication was nceivedf from S.A. Part , surrendering the the Board of Trustees the Class A liquor license held by him at number I00 Grand Afenue. Moved by Trustee Mc Govern seconded by Trustee Kelley that the communication be received and placed on file. Carried application ~$$$~.i'for a Class A liquor license was received from Elte Al~emand of ~Ioo Grand Ave. South San Frahcisco, and accompanaing ~he said application was a Bomd for the sum of $I000 in favor of the City of South San Francisco, for the faithful compliance with ordinance ~ 4 of the City of South San F~ancisco, by the applicant, and the applicant having complied in all respects with th provtsioSs of ordinance number 4 he was granted a permit for a Class A liquor license until December 3I, I~I2~ by the unanimous vote of all Trustees present. A REport for one month ending october ZI, I912, was received from City Recorder Wm. Rehber~ showing the ~mount of fines collected for the month of october to be 2ifty five (55) dollars and encloseing check for that amount. Moved by Trustee Mc ~;overn seconded by Trustee Kelley that the report be accept&ed and placed on file. Carried The City Clerk was instructed to write to write for prices on Elm, Blackwood Accacias, and ~ucalyptus trees. Move~5~0Trustee Holston seconded by Trustee Hickey,that J.E.G. Benjamin be granteA a refund on account o ~? overtaxatton on his property. Carried Ordinance number60 entitled, AN Ordinance Imposing a license Ul~On an~ show,exhibition, or performance given under canvass or clothe covering or in any inclosure without a covering and upon chutes toboggan slides muesums Panorama and o~lorama, shooting gallaries,knife racks, doll racks, and upon all devices operated for the purpose of testing human skill or strenght, was read, and upon roll-call was adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San 2ranciscoby the following vote; Ayes, Trustees G.W. Holston, T.L. Hiokey,J.H.Ke21ey, J.C.~c Govern and ~.A. Cunningham. Noes, Trustees Nom~ Absent, Trustees None. ~ William J, Smith Clerk of the BOard of Trustees An ordinance entitled &u0rdinance Defining The Boundaries Of Division Stree~ A nd Estab- lishing Elevations On Division Street Between the North line of Grand Avenue And THe South Line of Armour Aven~e ,was formally introduced by Trustee T.L. Hickey, and laid over until next meeting of the Board. The following demands against the City were presented for payment the same having been approved by the finance committee. To Chas. H. The only business taken up at this meeting ~as that concerning the civil actio~ of J.Paccheco V~rsu~ L~an~rd 0~borne in ~hich civil action the City Recorder ha~ erronously i~sued a~ ~ttachme~n t against the defendents wa~es. Moved by Trustee Mc ~overn ~econded by Trustee Kelley that the money collected b~~ the Reconsider through the ~aid attachment be returned to the d~fen~ant in the case, Leanord 0sherle.
