W. HoUston ~President of the Board) at 8:1~ p.m. Roll-call found the following Trustees present J. C. McGovern, G. W. Holston, Geo. Wallace, Absent Trusttes F. A. ~Cunningham J. H. Kelly ~e,~eading of the minutes of the'previous meetings was dispensed with. The following resolution was then introduced by Trustee McGovern A Resolution Ordering Work. Resolved, that whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco did on the 15th day of July,1914 pass its Resolution of Intention No. l~ to order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvement to be made in said city which Res- olution of Intention was duly and legally published as required by law, aS appears ~rom the affidavit of E. I. Woodaman now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City: and whereas, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No, 12 headed "notice of Improvement" were duly and legally p~sted along the line of said contemplated work and imp- rovement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, in form and manner as required by law as appears from the affidavit of Geo. Emeese, Superintendent of Streets of said Citywho, upon the completion of the posting of said notices, forwith filed asid affidavit in the office of the City Clerk making oath that he completed the posting of sai~ notices on the ££d day of July, 1914 , whereas, more than fifteen days have expired since the day of second publication of said Resolution of Intention No. 12 and the completion of the posting of said "Notices of Improvements" therefir be ut RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work herein described, and the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco hereby orders the following work to be done insaid City, to-wit: That Eaple Avenue between the north line of Baden Avenue and the South line of Grand Avenue and the south line of Miller Avenue, Spruce Avenue bewteen the North line of Baden Avenue and the south line of Grand Avenue and Spruce Avenue bewteen the north line of Grand Avenue and the south line of Hillsr Abenue, and Eucalyotus Avenue bewteen the north line of Baden Avenue and thesouth line of Grand Avenue and Eucalyptus Avenue between the north line of Grand Avenue and the South ,ine of Miller Avenue, including all interSecions of eac~ of said streets with alleys, be improved by grading, and by constructiong concrete ~,~ _ in each of asaid streets, wxceptwhere such curbs have alre~dy been constructed and by cons~ruc~ concrete sidewalks in each of said streets having a width of fiwe feet commencing two feet from the boundary lines of each of said streets and extending five feet towards the ~urb l~nes except where such sidewalks have already been constructed; and by filling in earth back of the curbs of each of said streets so as to bring the sidewalks between the curb of each of sail str streetsso as to bring the sidewalks between the curb and concrete sidewalks to official grade, except where such filling has already been done; and by construction an oiled macadanm pavement from gutter to gutter in each of said streets. All work herein provided shall be done to official grade in accordance with the speci plans and specifications hereintofoew adopted by said Board of Trustees foe doing said work and now on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is hereby made for further des- cription of said work. Th e Board of Trustees under the authorithy conferred upon it by the provisions of t certaind act of the ~eglslature of the State of California, approved A~ril ?, 1911 and known a the "Improvement Act of 1911", determines and declares that serial bonds shall be issued to re resent the cost of adis proposed improvements and of nine years from the second day of Janurar~ nest succeeding their d~te and shall be issued to represent assessments of Twenty-five Dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty ~'days after the date of the warrant issued to the contractor, or five days after the decision of said Board of Trustees on anappeal: an even anL~ual proportion of the principal sum of ea ch bond shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of ~anuary if each year after date abd until the whole is paid, and interest shall be payable semiannually by coupon on the seond days of January and July, respectively, of each year at the~rate of seven per cent per ann~n on all sums unpaid until the whole if said principal and interest is paid and said bonds shall be issued in accordance w~th the provisions of said "Inprovement Act of 1911" The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work. together with the plans and specifications therefor, conspicuously for f~ve days on or near the Council Chamber door, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing th~ work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting such proposals, and referring to the specifications posted or on file, bu two insertions in "The Enterprise" a wee~y newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose. I hereby certify that the foregoing and resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South Sab ~rancisco this llth day of Aug~st, 1914 by the following vote: Ayes, Trusteds J. ~. Smith City Clerk Thefollowing resolution was then introduced by Trustee Mc Govern Granting a further time on Baden Avenue Work. Resolved by the Board pf Trusttes of the City of South San Francisco that he the Superintendent of Streets be, and he hereby is directed to enlarge the time by thirty days for the completion of the work of improvement of Baden Avenue between the median line of Magonolia Aveneu and the median line of Orange Avenue, which said work is being done by Bates, Borland and Ayer contractors under the contract with said Cuperintendent of Streets of the City of South San ~r~ncisco. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of The City of South San Francisco this llth day of August, 1914 by the following vote: Ayes ~. Cunningham Attest: Wm .J.Smith, City Clerk The ~ollowing resolution was then introduced by Trustee McGovern granting a further time on the work on Baden Avenue. Resolved by the Board of Trustee~ of the City ~f South San ~r~ncsico t~at the Bates, Borland and Ayer be, and they hereby ~re given thirty days additional time in which to complete the work if improvement of that portion of Baden Avenue between the west line of Linden Avenue and the median line of Magnolia Avenue and that portion of Baden avenue between the median line of Orange Avenue abd the esast line of Chestnut Avenue, according to the terms of their aggreement ~,~.~ ..~ .ars or more remaining unpai~ for thirty y~ays after the date of the warrant issued to the contractor, or five days after the decision of said Board of Trustees on anappeal: an even annual proportion of the principal sum of ea oh bond shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of ~anuary if each year after date abd until the whole is paid, and interest shall be payable semiannually by coupon on the seond days of January and July, respectively, of each year at the~rate of seven per cent per annu~n on all sums unpaid until the whole if said principal and intezest is paid and said bonds s~all be issued in accordance w~th the provisions of said "Inprovement Act of 1911" The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work. to~ether with the plans and specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Ohamber door, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing tho work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting such proposals, and referring to the specifications posted or on file, bu two insertions in "The Enterprise" a weeX~y newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose. Resolved by the Board of Trustee~ of the City of South San ~r~ncsico that the Bates, Borland and Ayer be, and they hereby ~re given thirty days additional time in which to complete the work if improvement of that portion of Baden Avenue between the west line of Linden Avenue ~nd the median line of Magnolia Avenue and that portion of Baden avenue between the median line' of Orange Avenue abd the esast line of Chestnut Avenue, according to the terms of their aggreeme~t with certain property owners of said street. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of The City of South San Francisco that Bates, Borland and Ayers be, and they are hereby given th~%~ ~ ~y~ ~u~t~onal time within v~hich c~mplete t~e work of improvement of ~liller Aven~e between the Road and the east line of Chestnut Avenue, according to the terms of their agreement with cert ain property owners on said street. I hereby certify that the foregoing ~esolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees on the City of ~outh San Francisco this llth day of August, $914 bythe following vote: Ayes, Trustees J.
