This meeting was called to order at 8' 0 Clock P.]~..,by Trustee 3.W. Holston "President of the Board". Roll-call found the following Trustees present,to wit; . -~~~- Geo. Wallace and ~.W. TM F.A Cu~i ~ J Kelley, ~-~ ~ ' ' ~ n~nam, .H .... ~olston. Trustee Hc Gove~ appeared after roll-call. Absent Trustees None. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley ~econded by Trustee CuLmingham and regularly carried were approved as read A petition was received from the Pac. Tel. and Tel. Co. asking permission to set two poles in the City of South San Prancisco. The petition was referred to the Superintendent of Streets. A communication was received from J.0. Snyder protesti~g against the acceptance of ~liller Avenue on account of a bad o~l spot in that street. The communi~ation was filed ~til the street the stret was ready for acceptance. The report of the City Engineer on the esZimate of quantities of work required to improve ~,Iaple,Spruce, and Eu~alyt~tus Avenues ~~,~ was then read. The report was accepted and ordered placed on file. ~Ioved by Trustee C~ningham seconded by Trustee Kelley that bids for the impro~ent of Haple, Spruce, and Eucalyptus Avenues be opened. Carried The only bid received fas that of Bates Borland and Ayers,whic~ read as follows Oradeing 68 cents per cubic yard, Concrete sidewalk 1Z cents per square foot, Concrete curbing 80 cents per lineal foot,Concrete ~utters 16 cents per square foot and Oiled ~'~acadam pavement 10.7 per square f ct. It was then moved by Trustee Cu~ingham se6onded by Trustee Walla c~ that the bid be referred to the Street committee for their cunsideration . Carried A bid was submitted by Chas, J. Lindgreh for t}Le construction of a six inch sewer in Juniper Avenue at the rate of fifty cents per foot. The matter was taken ~mder advisement by the Board. The following demands afainst the City were presented for payment the same having been approved by ti~e finance committee. So. City Lumber Company supplies for ~trcet L~ept H..A. Carried The following resolution was then introduced by Trustee ~'_c ~overu. Xesolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco that the appeal of J.C ~e ~overn and ~_~" Holston f~led in the of~ice of the City vlerk on the 1Zth day of Au~ust 1914, ffrom the ~,uperintendents of Streets acceptance of the work and assessment for paving and otherwise improving Grand Avenue between the East line of Division Street and the east line of Chemtnut Avenue,as per 2esolution 0'f intention lJo. ?,adopted June 16, 1913, be an~ the same is hereby overruled,and ti~e Supt.of stroets assessment,warrant adnd diagram for said work are hereby confirmed and approved. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Tr. ustees of the City of South S~n Prancisco this £?th day of August,1914,by the following vote: Ayes Trustees ?.A.
