HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 102-2014 RESOLUTION NO. 102-2014 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $148,000 FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS) FOR THE "SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM" TO PAY FOR PERSONNEL OVERTIME, EQUIPMENT, TRAINING EXPENSES, AND TRAFFIC SAFETY PRESENTATIONS; AND AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S OPERATING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014/2015 WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of$148,000 for personnel overtime,equipment,training expenses,and traffic safety presentations from the State of California- Office of Traffic Safety(OTS) for the "Selective Traffic Enforcement Program"; and WHEREAS, the grant funding will be used to augment the operating budget of the Police Department for FY 2014/2015. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts the $148,000 grant from the State of California— Office of Traffic Safety and amends the 2014/2015 Police Department Operating Budget to reflect this increase of funds. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement, any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 10th day of September, 2014 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
