This meeting was called to orderat at 8' 0 Clock P.M. ,by Trustee ~,W. Hol~ton "President of the Board", Roll-call Roll call found t~e ~/~llo~*n~ Trustees present,to wit; ~e0rge Wallace F.A, C~nningham, J.H. Kelley, J.C, Mo ~overn and ~,W, l~lston. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of-Trustee Kelley seoomded by Trustee Cunningham and regularly carried were approved as read. A petition was received from A Baradat wherein he petition the B~ard of TrUStees for permts~ to erect a corrugated iron building on the premises known as lot 2~ B~ook 140 to be used as a laundry. Moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee C:~nningham that the permission be granted. Carried A discussion of the ~e&sdom of installing a new lighting system,in which the Citizens of the City took partbrought a suggestion from E.E. Cunningham that' the President of the Board appoint a committee to investiga, te the cost Etc. also t~hascertaim the cost of im- proving the civic center site and the building of a City Hall. The President of the Board appointe~ Trustees' Cunningham, ~ic ~;vern and Kelley to serve on the committee. A Petition was received from the Pac. ~as & Electric ~ompany asking permission otc set poles on Commercial Avenue between ~agnolia and Orange Avenue . The matter was referred to the¢ity Engineer. A communication was received from W.H. The following resolution of award was then imtroduoed by Trustee Cunningham Whereas the Board of Trustees of t~e City of South San l~rancisco did, in open session ,on the ?th day of ~Vebruary,1916. publicly open, examine and deol&~e all s~aled proposals or bids for doing the following work in said City, to wit; '~rading to offlical grade Walnut Avenue between the north line of 0rand Avenue and the South line of MtllerAvenue; the construction o~ concrete sidewalks therein on both sides thereof having a width of five {5) feet co~mencing two (2) feet from the boundary Ii. ne and extending five feet toward the curb lines; the construction of combination concrete durbs and gutters therein on both sides thereof. Ail material and all work must be in strict compll,~uce plans and specifications adopted by the B~ard of Trustees with the requirements of the on the 10 th~ day of JanuarY, 19L$. and now on file in the office of the City Clerk, The successful bidder shall within ten days after the award enter into a contract with the City of South San Francisco for the faithful pe~i~emnee of the work to be done Under said award. The matter of the petition concerning the annexation of the inhabited teritory known as the smelter site,which petition was re ceived by the BOard of Trustees on the 24th. day of January ,1916 , was taken up at this time,. Chas. Woodman who circulated .~he petition and secured signatures theret~ was called before the Board cf Trustees and after being duly sworn answe,ed the following questiQns. Q.
