HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1916-04-15 Regular adjourn meeting of the Board of City Trustees of the City of South San Francisco held Saturday April 15, 1916. This meeting was called to order at 12 o'clock a.m. by Trustee G. W. Halston President pf the Board· Roll call found all of the Trustees present to wit: F. A. Cunningham, J. H. Kelley, J. C. McGovern, G. H. Wallace, and G. W. Ho!ston. The following demands against the City were presented for pa~nent: Pacific Telephone & Telegraoh Company James Smith 8outh City Printing Co. Chas. Carried. Moved by Trustee McGovern seconded by '~ru~.tee Cunningham that the City Clerk be authorized to purchase an addin? machineCarried. The application of John Dowd for the o£fice o£ City Recorder was then read· ~2oved by Trustee ~cGovern seconded b~f Trustee Wallace that the application of John Dowd be acco?ted and that he be appointed to the po.~ition of City Recorder. Carried. ~ru~ tee McGovern that the Superintendent o£ Loved by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Streets, be a~thorized to accept the com~::]eted work of F. R. Ritchie. Carried. The followin~ Reso:ut~on was then introduced by Trustee McGovern. Whereas the Bo~rd of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco did, in open session on the 3rd d~y of A-ril, ].~]6, o?en and e~:a~-ine all bids or proposals submitted for £urnishing to said City of South San Francisco one peice motor-propelled, fire apparatus, 'to wit: a com- bination chemical and hose wagon; Re~ olved b~f tho Board of Trustees of the City of Scut1,~ San ~ra:n~isco that said Board hereby rejects ail said bids or proposals except that next hereinafter mentioned and hereby awards to The Se~rave Company, a car?oration, the contract for ].easing to said City of South San Francisco one peice of motor-propelled fire apparatus, with six-cylinder engine, to wit, a combination chemical and hose wagon e uip~ed and constructed in accordance with the s~eci£- ications acco~panying the bid of said The Seffrave Company, uy:~on the i'oltowin~ terms and cond- itions: L. the total rental for said apparatus shall be Six Thousand Dollars ($6000.00). 2. At the time of the delivery of said sp!.a~atus , with all eq.ipment as hereinbefore 2O Provided The Se~rave Com~n~f shall receive One thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($18Z0.00) as the rental for said a~,?aratus from August 1st, ]916, to August ]st, 1917. 4. 0n the 1st, day of August, 1917, The Segrave Comp8ny s~a]t receive the Two Thousand and thirty-i'i~e Dollars ~Z0~6) as the rental for the use of ssid ~ppara~us from Augustlst, 1917, to Au~st 1st, 1918. 6. on the 1st dsy of August, 19~8, The Segrave Co~pany ~'ha]l receive the sum of Two T~ou- sand One Hundred ~nd Thirty Fi~e Dollars ~l~6.00)ad the rental 1'or the use of said a~]~aratus from Angst 1st, 1918 to August 1st, 1919. 6. At any time after tn~ ] day of Augu~t, 1918, said City of South S~m Francisco shall ha~e the option to purchase said apparatus for the sum o~ One a~a~,ed Dollars (~100.00), and said City msy ha~e the o~tion to purchase said apparatus at any time prior to the 1st day Au~us t ].918 by ~ ' , , p~y~ng s su~ ~qual to the unpaid portion of ssid rental, in addition ~to said s~ of One H~dred Dollars ($100.00). 7.
