held Thursd[y July 20, 1916, This meeting was calledto order by O. W. no]ston who acted as
chairman pro;em in the absence of J. H. Kelley President of the Board.
Roll csl] found the following Trustees present to wit:

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
~ communication was received from Dr. W. ~. Brooke Coroner of San Mateo County enclosing
s copy of the verdict ~of the Coroners Jury which verdict embodied a recommendation that gates
be rlsced st the Railroad Cron'sing af the Linden Avende Extension. .ction on the communication
v,~as deferred until the full membership of the Board be 6resent.

Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South ~an Francisco ~s follows:
That, all official ~ev~ti.ons or grades on ~ift Avenue and Walker Avenue be, and the same
hereby are determined, established and described with reference to Mean Lower Low ~ter, as
ascertained by the United States Cosst a~.d Geodetic Survey st F~ort Point, San Francisco California,
and hereinafter described os the, City Base:
Thst the official elevations or ~rsdes on said avenues or streets are hereby determined
end declared to be above said City Base and thst the said official elevatidns or ~rad8s and their
several points of location be, a~nd the s~me hereby are established as follows;
At a point on the center line f Swift ~venue 100 feet easterly from the in{erse~ction
of the center line of Grand /venue with the center line of Swift Avenue, Eighteen andfive-tenths
(18~) feet; at a point on the center line of swift Avenue 1906 feet e~sterly from said intersec~
ion, twelve and seventy-five hundreds (12.75) feet; at the intersectio~of the center line of
Swift Avenue with the center line' of Walker Avenue, fourteen and four-ten;he (14.4) feet; on the
center line of Walker Avenue 1074.31 feet southeasterly from the intersection of the center line

RESOZUTION OF INTENTION N0.28
A RESOI. UTION OF THE BOAP:D OF TRU?TEE? 0~_ THE CITY OF ~°~t~.~ ~,~ FRANCISCO DECLARING ITS
INTF~JTION TO IMPROVE SWIFT AVF~UE AND WI~LKF~R AVENUE.
Whereas public interest ~nd convenience require that the work and improvement hereinafter
described should be done; end
Whereas in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Eouth S~n Franci see, said
contemplated work and,improvemen~ is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordin-
ary public benefit:
Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that
it is the intention of said Board to order the following work end improvement to be done in
said City, to-wit:
That Swift Avenue between the easterly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific
Railroad end ~he Easterly end of said Swift Aven~e end Walker A-enue from the westerly end thereof
to s line at right angles to the center line thereof 1074.51 feet easterly from the westerly end
of said Walker Avenue be improved by grading to officie~ grade, ~nd at the location and for the
width shown upon the plans hereinafter referred to, and by constructing therein an asphaltic
concrete pavement consisting of an asphaltic concrete wearing surface one and one-h~.tf (l-l/2)
inches in thickness laid on a concretebase six (6) inches in thickness, having e width of
eighteen (18) feet, end at the particular location shown on the plans hereinafter re±~erred to;
also by constructing earth shoulders on each side of se. id pavement at the loc~tions s~nd of the
dimensions shown upon the plans hereinafter referred to; else by constructing a reinforced concret
box culvert and eighteen (18) inch corrugated iron culverts at the loc~tions shown upon the plens
hereinafter refSrred to.
~ll work herein provided for sh~ll be done to official grade and in accordance with the
special plans and specigications for said work, which plans an'd s~ecifications are entitled
"plans and specifications for the construction of Street Improvement Work upon Swift Avenue end

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0.28
A RESOZUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRU?TEE? OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECI~RING ITS
INTENTION TO IMPROVE SWIFT AVF~UJE AND W~LKER AVENUE.
Wherees public interest and convenience require that the work and improvement hereinafter
described should be done; and
Whereas in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh S~n Francisco, said
contemplated work and,improvemen~ is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordin-
ary public benefit~
Now, therefore, resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Sout~ San Francisco that
it is the intention of said Board to order the following work and improvement to be done in
said City, to-wit:
That Swift Avenue between the eesterly line of the right of wey of the Southern Pacific
Railroad end ~he Ee. sterly end of said Swift Aven~e and Walker A-enue from the westerly end thereof

description of the bOundories of the district hereinefter mentioned.

work and ~mprovement is of.more than local cr ordinary public beneif~ ~nd will affect ~nd benefit
the lands and district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the

from the 2nd day of July next succeeding nine (9) months from their date.
"The Enterprise", e weekly newspeper printed and circuleted in the City of South S~n
Frmncisco is ~reby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention shall be
published, and the Clerk is-hereby directed to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published
by two ~2) insertions in the msnnor and form required b y l~w.
The ~uperintendent of Streets shall canse to be conspicuou?ly posted ~long the line of
contemplated work or improvement ~nd along all the open streets within said district ~nd in front
of ~ll the property liable to be assessed ~t not more than three hundred (~00) feet in distance
apart, but not ~ess th~n (Z) three in el~ in e~ch ~treet in said district, notices of the p~ssa~e
this Resolution of Intention in the manner and for required by the Improvement of 1911," and the
amendments thereto.
Notice is h~eby given that on Monday the lath day of August, 1916, at the hour of $:00
p.m. in the Council Chamber of said Board of Trustees of the City of South ~an Francisco, any and
all porsons having any objections to the proposed work ~nd improvement mey appear before said~
Board of Trustees smd show c~use why said Proposed work and improvement should not be carried out
in ~ccordsnce with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the herein proposed work sha~l be done in pursu
of en Act of the Legislature of the State of Calif,~rnis, design~.ted as the "Improvement Act of Lgl
approved April ?th, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
