Kelley President of the Board. Roll call found the following Trustees presemt to wit: M. F. Healy, G. W. Holston, G. H. Wallace amd $. H. Kelley. Absent Trustees ~. A. C~ingham. The mimutes of the previous meetimg were re~d ~nd upon motion of Trustee Holston seconded by Trusts Healy and regularly ,arried were approved as read. A petition was received from J. Welmh asking that he be appoimted pound m~ster. A petition w~s also received from Wm. Meir asking for the ~ppointment of poumd m~ster. Moved by Trustee Wall~.~e seconded by Trustee Holston that J. Welsh be appoimted poumd master Carried. A communimation was received fro~ F. L. Eskward, im ~swer to ome from the City Clerk of the 2?th ultimo., in referem~e to the Assembly Bill No. 69? s~ying t~ s~id bill ha~ p~ssed whem the mommumication rea.hed him . The ~ommuni,ation was ordered plamed om file. A communication was re,sired from M. B. Johnson senator of San Mateo Co~mty relating to Assembly Bill No. 697 saying that when said bil~ reached the Assembly he would be very ~lad to into its merits. A Communication w~s received from J. H. N~sh County Clerk in response to one from the Ciiy C of March 8m ~glV conaerning the contract of that p~rt of Mission Road adjoining So. S~n Francisco s~ying that contract for improvement of s~id ro~d was in the hands of Sups rvisor T. L. Hickey. A oetition w~s received from the City Street Imorovem~nt Comps.ny asking for ~n extension of ninety (90) d~ys on their ~ontract No. 27 with Superintendent of Streets of South San Fra~cismo. Moved by Trustee Holston seconded by Trustee W~llace that ~ity Street ImDrovem~mt Company be give~ an extension of 90 days on said contract and that Supt. of Streets m~ke the proper notation on said eontraet. The reports of all City offieers for the month of M~reh were them read. T~ report of t~e City Clerk showed the following b~lanees. The report of the City Treasurer ehecked with that of the City Clerk. The report of the C~ty Recorder showed~that he h~d ~olleeted the sum of Fifty ($~0.00) Dolla throu~hhis office during the month of March., for which he enelosedn check. The report of the City Health 0fficerstated that ~0 children had been treated by the Health Dental Department during the month of March. Said report also requested f~ the City ~rustees to p~y a visit to the~sehool to see wh~t w~s being done in the Dena tal Dep~rtment. Moved by Trustee W~llsee seconded by Trustee Holston that the report of all City 0ffieers be aeeepted., ~nd placed om file. The following Resolution was then introduced ~y Trustee Holston. Whereas Assembly Bill No. 697 has been introduced in to the 'Legislature of the State of Czlifornia ~nd provides that ~ll ordimanees must be published at least three times in a newspapSt published in the municipality by which such ordin~mees ~re pz~sed, if there is sueh mewsp~per;and Whereas such legislatiom will serve no beneficial publie purpose; and Whereas said bill, if enacted imto law, will impose ummeeessary amd umreason~ble expemse up¢ many small municipalities in the state of Cl~ifornia; Whereas said bill h~s ~lready beem O~ssed by the Assembly ~md there is some probability tha~ it m~y be p~ssed by the Semite; Mowed by Trustee Wallace seconded by Trustee Holstom that J. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Sotuth San Praneiseo that the term of office of Henry W, E.neese as Chief Engineer of the Fire Department of the City of South San ~ran¢isco be, amd the same hereby is terminated. I hereby eertify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and ado~-ted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Frameiseo this 2nd day of April by the fol- lowing vote. An ordinance entitled "An ordinsnce of the City of South San FrancMeo imposing, a lieense tax upon persons, firms, or corporations, purehasinggathering or collecting rags, old iron, brass, copper, zinc. lead, and other metals, within the City of South San Francisco had its second re~ding and upon roll call was ~dopted ss sn ordinsnce of the C~ty of South ~an ~rsneisco. I hereby certify that the goregoing resolution w~s regularly intr~odueed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South S~n Praneisco this 2nd day of April by the City Clerk.
