This meeting was called to order at 8 ' o clock p.m., by Trustee J.H Kelley "President of the Board ". Roll-call Rollcall found the following Trustees present,to wit; F.A. Cuhningham, Li.F. Healy, G.W. Holston ,Geo. H. Wallace and J.H. Kelley. Absent Trustees None. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. An arDYication for a C~s'ss "A" liquor 2icense was received from Colomh~ and Curti but they having been denied a liquor license within two years last past it .was decided that the applic~i was contrary ~o the provisions of the liquor ordinance and was therefore denied. A communication wes received from the Volunte ~ hold an all night dance September 15, 1917. The communication w~s p~aced on file. H~se ~o No. I asking that they be alYowed to A petition was received from the Pac. Gas & Electric Company for permission to tear up the alley between Grand and Baden Avenue to give gas service to W.C. Schneiger. ~oved by Trustee Cunningham seconded byTrustee Wallace that the permission be gr~nted. Carried The report of W.J. Kidd who had completed the audit of the Cit~ books was received s,t this meetin, he reported the books correct with~exeeption of overpayment o£ $11.25 by W.J. Smith to the City Treasurer. Moved bN Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Holston that the r~port be accepted and filed and ~ warrant for $11.2~ be drawn on the Treasurer in favor of W.J. Smith. C~rried A communication w~s received from Quirk Bros. asking that the denomination of the bonds of the Los Ceritos Tract be $~00. moved by Trustee W~lace seconded b~Trustee Cunningham that the communication be placed on file. Carried A communicatioh was received from the R~ilro~d Commission ca~ling the attention of t~e Bo~rd to the ~ ~eq~.reiug R~ilro~d st~ns on sit er side of each crossing . The communication was received znd ordered filed. AcoN~munication w~~ received from the C~lifornia State Automobile association quoting prices on signs as follows, to wit; The sign~ installed at a cost not to exceed $4.00. Bonds Seri,s "B"$25.24 The report of the CitN Treasurer checked with that of theb City Clerk The report of the City Recorder showed that the sum of $20.00 had been collected through his offic the month of July 1917, for which he enclosed check. The report of the Health officer and chief of the fire Dept. were also received at this meeting. Moved by Trustee Cunningham seconded b~? Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South. San Praneiscodid, on the24th, day of May,191?, pass a resolution declaring its intention to or'der the following street work to be done in said City,to wit; That that portion of D~ision Street, as shown upon that certain map entitled "South San Pranci~ San Mates Co. Cal. Plat No. 1" which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the Co County of San Mates ,California, March 1, 1892, in book 2 of maps at page 52,lying between the Southerly boundary line of Grand Avenue and the wester]~ boundar~ line of the right of w~ of the Southern Pacific Railroad Cqmpany be vacated and.closed up in whole; And did in said resolution declare that no land is necessary to be Saken therefor and did in said resolution specify the exteriom boundaries of the districts of land to be effected and benefitted by said work ~nd to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses thereof,to which said Resolution of Intention now on file in ~&d matter in the offiee o~ the City Clerk reference is hereby made for further particulars ~nd the same is made a part hereof; and Whereas the Street Superintendent of said City of South San Francisco did thereupon cause notice of the passage of said resolution to be posted and published in the manner and form required by law and in said resolution of intention ,reference being hereby made for further particulars to the affidavi~ of George A. Kneese, Street Superintendent, and to the a~fidavit of C.N. Woodman which affidavits are now on file in Sh&d matter in the office of the $~Clerk of said Board of Trustees and are made a part hereof ; and Whereas no written objection s or protests against said prppos~d work have st any time been filed. with or received by the Clerk of said Board of Trustees or this Board of Trustees at any time subsequent to the publication of the said notice hereinbefore mentioned, and more than ten days have elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notice of the passage of said resolution, and whereas the ~heposed work is for the closing up of that portion of Division Street hereinbefore described ~hereas ssid Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco has determined 'and hereb~ does determine, that no assessment is necessary for the doing of said proposed work,and that nodamage will result by the closing up of of said rortion of Division street,as hereinbefore described Now therefore,said Board of Trustees hereby orders that the fo]lowing street work be done in said City to wit: That the fo]lowing described portion od Division ~treet be closet up in whole,to wit: That that portion of Division Street ,ss shown upon that certain map entitled" South S~nFrancisco San Mates County ,Cal.
