HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1918-07-15 Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South S~n Franoisco held Monday July l§, 1918. This meeting was called to order ~t 8 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G. W. Holston President of She Board Roll cal~ found all of the Trustees present to wit: F. A. Cunningham, E. J. Eschelbach, ~. F. He~ly, J. ~- Kelley, and G. W. Holston. The minutes of the previous moeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Cunninghamn were approved as read. An application to set pol~s as per b~ue print ~240 R attached to said application, was received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and was referred tO the Public Utilities Com- mittee for aotion. An ~pp~ication fSr c Class A. Liquor License was received from Hawes & Tibbetts of 2~4 Grand ~venue also an application for a Class A Liquor ~icense from G. Be~tucelli & F. Brocchini of 200 Gr~nd AVenue, and accompanying e~h of the above applications was a bond in the penal su~ of~0ne Thousand ($1000.00) Dollars for the faithful compliance of Ordinance $ 78 by the app - ~icant, and the ~pp~.icant having ~omp~ied in all respects with the provisions of said Ordinance peri,its for were granted CIass A Liquor Licenses for a term of six months ending December 31, 1918. An application for a Class B. ~iquor License was received from Chas. E. Loss place where business was to be conducted was the Knoth House on Ean Bruno Road. Upon motion of Trustee Kelley seconde~ by Trustee Cunningham the application was denied. A communication was received £rom J. W. Coleberd City Attorney asking for an increase in salary of Twenty-five ($2§.00) ~ollars per month, l~oved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Esehe~ba~h and regularly carried the request w~s granted.. A oommuni~ation was re~eived from T. A'Hern Superintendent of the Southern Pacifi$ Coast Division in answer to one of June 8, 1918, ca~ling attention to condition of Railroad Crossings in the City of South San Francisco. The answer stated that the ne cessary repairs to their crossings would be made at once. A communication was received from W. J. Kidd tendering his services for the yearly audit of the South San ~rancisco's Books. The communi~ation was referred to the Finance Committee Moved by Trustee Cu nningham seconded by Trustee Healy that the South San ~rancis~o Water ~ompany be requested to repair pavement on Swift Avenue, caused byz leaking pipe owned by their Company. Motion Carried. Moved by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Kelle~ that Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars be donated to the Cha~ber of Commerce to help defray expense of b~nquet to the ~an Francisco ~Reality Board, A co~m~nication was reoeived from the California State Board of Health thru its state district Health Officer Robert N. Hoyt, calling attention to the unsanitary condition of the section aroun~ the property of G. Ueelli on the South side of th~ road le~ding to Leipsig eroszing. The matter w~s referred to the Local Health Officer Dr. J. C. MCGovern . A communication w~s reeeived from Hiram W. Johnson acknowledging and enclosing copy of letter received from Edward Chambers dated June 20, ~918.' The communication was ordered filed. IN THE MATTER OF THE IL~ROVMENT OF A PORTION OF SAN BR~N0 ROAD AND A PORTION OF BUTLER ROAD. RESOLUTION APPROVING DIAGRAM. Resolved by the ~oard of Trustees of the City of South San Franeis,o that the diagram sub mitted by the City Engineer of said City on the 15th day of July 1918, for the property affected and benefitted by the improvment Of that portion of San Bruno Road between the North line of Armour Avenue and the North boundary line of said City of South San Francisco and Butler Rd mittee for aetion. RESOLUTION APPROVING DIAGRAMS, Resolved by the ~oard of Trustees of the City of South San ~raneiseo that the diagram sub mitted by the City Engineer of said City on the l~th day of July 1918, for the property affected ~ and benefitted by the improvment Of that portion of San Bruno Rosd between the North line of Armour Avenue ~nd the North boundary line of said City of South San Francisco and Butler Rd between San Bruno Rosd and a line parallel to the west boundary line of the right of way of the Southern Paeific Railroad Company and at a distance of Twnety (20) Feet westerly there- 206 ' from, as described in Resolution of Intention No..32 adopted by the Board of Trustees o f the City of ~outh San Francisco ~n the ?th day of January, ~918, and to be assessed to pay the ex- penses of said work, be.~and the same hereby is approved by said Board of Trustees, and the C City Clerk of said City of South San Fran¢iseo ia hereby directed to eertify to the fact and date of such approval, and he is also direeted to deliver said diagram so approved to the Sup- erintendent of Streets of said City.. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,.
