Cunningham, A.J. Eschelbach, ~I.?. Hea!~/, J. H. K~lle¥, and G. W. Holston. The minutes of the ~reviou~ meeting were reed and. u~on motion of Trustee Kelley seconded b~ Trust · Heal.~ ~.nd regularly' carried were approved as read. The following app].ications for Class A Liquor licenses were received at th~s meeting. A. Ratti S49 Gr~nd Avenue. Bertucelli & Brocchini ~00 Grand Avenue. R. Harder Zl8 San Bruno Road. P. Charles Steurman Armour Hotel f~ccompan~ing each of the above mamed applications was a bond in the penal sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00), in favor of the Cit~- of South Ban Francisco, for the faithf~ compliance with Ordinance No. 98 of the Cit.¥ of South San Francisco, b~ the applicant. And the applicant having complied in all respects with the provisi¢,ns of said Ordinance No. 98 were granted permits for a Class A liquor license for a termn of six (6) months ending June S0, i by the unaminous vote of all members el' the Board of Trustees. A comm~nieattom/t was received from W. H. Coffinberr~, preaident of the Bank of South San Fran~ m~..king complaint about the sanitary sewer ~acking up, and flooding the basement of the bank duri~ the recent rain, and also calling attention of the Board to the fact that several buildings had connectedtheir leader pipes to the sewer and so overcrowding the capacity and further asking tho' an investigation be made to ascertain if this was the real cause. The matter was referred to th~ Cit~ Engineer for investigation. An application was ~'eceived f~om the San Fr~ncisco [nd San Jose transportation Company? f~ a permit to operate thru and over the streets of South San Z~rancisco, and the Board having inves~ igated and found that the proper advertising by the said compan.~? had been done the following resolution was introduced b~,~ Trustee Kelley. Whereas, on the EOth da~ of Nove~ber a.d. 1918 an application w~s filed ~ith lhis Board b?? the San Jose and San Francisco Transportation Company,., a corporation, for ~ permit to operat~ auto trucks in and through South San Francisco on and along the public highways, and it appearin~ that the notice of the hearing on this application has been published so provided in subdivision "C" ~ection Z Chapter SIZ, Laws of 1917 of the State of Ca~lifornia and it further appearing aft~ a public hearing had'on said applicationat the time and pl[~c~ mentioned in said notice, that the] is no reason wh~ said permit should not be gr~nted, Therefore, be it reset_red that we, the Board of Trustees of the Cit~? of South San Franci~ authorize that the permit for which application is made as aforesaid be granted, and the same is hereby granted to the San Francisco and San Jose Transportation Co., to o~erate auto trucks in a~ through South S~n Francisco, on and along the public highway-s, on the following terms and conditJ to wit: The name of the grantee is San Francisco and San ~ose Transportation Co. The highways over which auto trucks are permitted to operzt~ are those leading to and frown San Francisco, San Mateo, an~ South Sa~ Francisco The termini between which auto trucks are to be operated are City and County of San Francisco and Cit~ of San Jose Count~ of Santa A. Whereas, on the 20th day of November a.d. 1918 an application wa, s filed with this Board by the San Jose and San Francisco Transportation Compan[z., a corporation, for a permit to operate auto trucks in and through South San Francisco on and along the public highways, and it appearing that the notice of the hearing on this application has been published so provided in subdivision "C" Section 3 Chapter 213, Laws of 1917 of the State of California and it further appearing after ~ a public hearing had'on said applicationat the time and place mentioned in said notice, that there is no reason why said permit should not be ~r~nted, Therefore, be it resolved that we, the Board of Trustees of the Cit~, of South San Francisco authorize that the permit for which application is made as aforesaid be granted, and the same is hereby granted to the San Francisco and San Jose Transportation Co., to operate auto trucks in and through South S~n Francisco, on and along the public highways, on the following terms and conditions to wit: The name of the grantee is San Francisco and San ~se Transportation Co. The highways over which auto trucks are permitted to operate are those leading to and from San Francisco, San Mateo, an~ South San Francisco The termini between which auto trucks are to be operated are City and County of San Francisco and City of San Jose County of Santa Clara, The kind of transportation to be engaged in is that o£ EXi~RESS and FREIGHT 226 The term for which permit is granted FiYE YEARS LIaximum tonnage capacity of each auto trucks ~0UR (4) TONS. Done in open meeting this 16th da~; of December 1918 The permission hereby granted is subJ~ct to all ordinances of the Cit:,? of South San Francisco in force at the date hereof and to all ordinances which mas~ hereafter be ~dopted re~].ating traffic ovey the streets of the City of South San Francisco.
