Sept., 1st. 1919,being a legal holiday. This meeting was called to order at 8' 0 clock p.m. ,by Trustee ~.A. Cun~z~ugham,who, actt~ as chairman on account of the absence of Trustee G.W. Holston President of the Board of Trustee~ F.A. Cunningham,A.J. Eschelbach,M.F. Heal), .... ,-,. Absent Trustees Kelley and Holston. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Healy seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved as read. A petition to set poles as per blue print $309 R attached to the petition was received from the Pac. Gas & E. Co. Moved by Trustee Eschelbach seconded by Trustee Healy that the petitiom be referred to the street committee ~or action. Motion carried A report was received from J.C. Mc Govern Chairman of the Welcome Home Committee £or the welcome home o~ the returned soldiers which committee was appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Trust~ at the meeting of the Board held August 2~,1919. The report requested that the Board of Trustees declare September 20,1919,a legal holiday for the City of South San Francisco,that being the date set Tb~ the committee for the celebration. The report of the committee was accepted and placed o~ file. The reports of ~ity officers for the month of August were then read the report of the City Clerk showed the following balances. General ~und $10,816.60 Library ~und $626.46 City Hall Fund Cash $1,96~.34 Securities $1,998.oo Weed Fund $104.53 Street Imp. Bonds Series "A" $69.63 "B" $42.01 "C" $36.17 "D"$34.3~ E$17.06 The report of the City Recorder showed that the sum of $140.oo had been collected through his office during the month of August for which he enclosed check The report of the chief of the fire department showed damage by fire for month of August to be $2,800.oo Moved by Trustee Eschelbsch seconded by Trustee Healy that the report~ of all City officers receive, at %his meeting be accepted and filed. Motion carried A communication was received from the Railroad Commission of the State of California notifying all interested parties that the said commission would on Sept. 1~,1919, hear evidence om gation of rates and charges of the Pac. Tel. & Tel. Co. Communication filed. The following resolution wa~ then introduced by TruStee Healy. Resolved by ti~e Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco,tLat Saturday the 20th day of September ,1919,be, and the same hereby is designated as a day for public welcome of soX~ieragre- Su~_$~ngsfrom service to our City Said Board of Trustees respectfully request that this day be regarded as a public holiday and that all persons Join in the observance thereof. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution wa~ regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco,this 2nd day of September,1919,by the following vote~ Ayes Trustees ~.A.
