This meeting was callsd to order at 8' o clock p.m.,by Trustee G.W. Holston "President of 1he Board of Trustees. Roll call Rollcall found ':;.~a~!~,'~ Trustees present,to-wit; F.A. Cunningham,A.J. Eschelbach, M.F. Healy,J.H. Kelley and G.W. Holston. Absent Trustees None. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved as read. A petiti0n was received fzom G.Fazio, and A. Simoninni,asking permission to hold ~atur~ay night and Sunday night dances in the City of South San Francisco. Moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Cunningham and regularly carried that the application be denied. A representative of the Bank of Italy appeared before the Board of Trustees and made an offer in 4~ per cent U.S. Victory Bonds for the $129,000. of Municipal Improvment Bonds of the City of South San Francisco. No action was taken by t,le Board of Trustees in the matter because of the fact that they dectde~,~od~'~elll~g't~ bonds at this time. Pastor of A communication ~as received from the St Paul Methodist Episcopal Church of South San Francisco an~ enclosing a copy of a resolution adopted by the Quarterly Conference Committee of th e church offering the lot now occupied by the church on. the corner of ~Grand and Maple Avenues,upon the fol- lowing terms and conditions,So-wit; That a lot situate on the Northwast corner of Grand and Spruce Avenue 100' x 140' be deeded to St Pauls Methodist Episcopal Church,that the present church building be moved upon the last mention lot and upon a good substantial foundation the~expenaeSof ~moving the building and the cost of the foundation to be paid b~ the City of South San Francisco,and in addition to the above conditions, that the sum of Three T,~ousand Five Hundred ($~,~00.00~ Dollars be paid the St Pauls Metodist Epis- copal Church. Moved By Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee K&lley that the offer of the St. Pauls Methodist Episcopal Church be denied, and the City Clerk be instructed to so notify the Quarterly Conference Committee of the action taken by this Board. Motion carried A communication was received from C.C.Conrad City Marshal asking for a ten days leave of absence ~pon ~otion o£ Trustee Kelley seconded by T~ustee Eschelbach and regularly carried the request was granted. A communicat~on was received from the League of California ~iunic&palities asking that the Board of ~rustees send at least three representative~ of the City to the Eunicipal Convention to be held at Riverside on October 20th to 24th. lblg. Moved by Trustee Cunningham Seconded by Trustee Healy that the City Clerk,City Attorney and City Health Officer be delegated to attend if they so wished. ~otion carried A communication was recie~ed from Mr. A. Hyndingand addressed to G.W. Holston asking the co-operati of the Board of Trustees morally and financially in a schema of tree planting proposed by ~. Hynding before the Chamber of Commerae at its last meeting . Action was deferred until the next meeting of the Board. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Cunningham. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh San Francisco,that the firm of ~erner and Coffe~ architects be paid the sum of One Thousand Dollars ,to a~ply on architects services in desig lng proposed City Hall:~he City Clerk is hereby ~astructed to draw a check on the City Hall Fund for the said amount. I herby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced ~ndadopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Sourh San Francisco,this 6th day of October 1919,by the following vote; Aye~ Trustees F.A. Lindgren $2,657.22 The following resolution of award was then introduced by Trustee Cunningham No. 38 RESOLUTION OF AWARD Whereas the Board of Trustees of the ~ity of South San ~rancisco did,in open session,on the 6th. day of ,O~o~.er,..~lg.open,examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing tthe ~llowing work in said ~ity. to-wit: The construction of an extention of t~e Conmercial Avenue Sewer from Chestnut Avenue to 288 ' Ashton Avenue. All material and all work must be in strict compliance with the requirements of the plans and specifications adopted by said Board of Trustees for doing said work on the 18th day September 1919,and now on file in the office of the City Clerk. The successful bidder shall,within ten (10) days after the award,enter into a contract with the City of South San Francisco for the faithful performance of the work to be done under said award. Resolved that said Board of Trustees hereby rejects all said proposal~ or bids except that next herein mentioned,and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvment to the lowest rrsponslble bidder,to wit,t~$t~$~; W.J.
