HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1919-11-17 Regular testing of the ~oard of Trustees of the city of So. San Francisco, held I~onday November 17, ~919. This meeting was malled to order at 8 o' clock p. m. by Trustee Holston President of the Board of Trustees. Roll-Called Roll- Call found all trustees present to-wit: F. A. 0unningham, A1 J. E~chelbach , M. F. Healey, J. H. Kelley, and G. W. Holston. The minutes of the previous meeting were,,~ad and upon motion of trustee Kelley duly seconded by Trustee Eschelbach, and ~egularly czrried~pproved as re~d, ~ An a~lication to set poll~ as per blue print No, 329 r. was received from the Pacific G~s and Electric ~o. Moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by trustee Cunningham that the application be ~referre to the street committee with power to act. Notion carried. The application was laterapproved by the street co~ittee. Communicatio~ was received from Panama Pacific Exposition Lo~ge No. 5..wherein they asked ~ermission to hold an all night dance November 26, 1919. Moved by trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee schelbsch that the permission be g~anted. ~,iotion carried. A comnunication was received from the I~%!~n American Citizens Club asking permission to give a masquerade ball st the Fraternal Hall on S~tember 31, 1919. until 2 ~' clock a. m.of the followin8 morn.i~g. 7~oved by trustee Cunni~ham seconded hy Kelley that permission be granted. Motion c~rried. A communication was received from the ~r~,,~M. R. ¥ierra asking that a refunding of $4.20 be granted her on over payment of taxes on Lot 25~Block 97 which property assessed for improvement where no improvements existed. A communication was also received from Mr. J. Lima 123 Aspin Ave., on behalf of the Alameda esta and asking for a refund on taxes for east half of Lot 18 Block 135 on account of being assessed for improvements where no improvements existed. Favored by trustee Cunningham that refunds of $4.90 be granted ~to Alemada estate and $4.20 be granted to Mrs. ME. ¥ierra . Motion Carried. A communication was received from the Catalytic Chemical Col, called the at~tion of the Board of Trustees to the condition of Swift Ave,, between Western Meat and Fuller Plant ~hiCh~r.oad' in cas of rzin would ~,passible. The matter was referred to the street committee with power %o,sct~ ~ ~; A report was received f~m G. A. Kneese City Engineer declaring the completion of'-Walnu~ Ave., and recommanding that 7§% of the tot al amount of job representing $1~47.63 be paid to Blanchard Crocker and Howell at this time. Moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Healey that the above s amol~nt be paid and the clerk be instructed to drzw a waz'rant for the above amount in favor of the contractors above named. The insurance on city ,~]l~,~eshaving expired it w~s moved by Trustee Eschelbach seconded by Trustee Cunningham and regularly earried that the clerk be instructed tsr~emew the insurance for anoth year. The report of the~city treasurer E. P. Kauffmann for the month of Oct. was then read after whic same was accepted and ordered filed. Mr. Henery Hacker appeared ~t this time ~e~gJ~,othe Board of Trustees and asked permission to submit bid~for the purchase of the $129,000 i"~f~~ent bonds The Board of Trustees decided t~at they~ot accept any Bids at this time until they had advertise the bonds so that all bidders would have a equal chance to bid. Moved by trustee Healey seconded by True,ge Kelley that the Linden Ave at 80$clock p. m. Time of A~ournment 9.40 p.
